I had the '''prévilège''' of attending 2 concerts UZEB gave at the Montreal Spectrum in 1988, era which is considered the apogee of the Jazz/fusion powerhouse trio. They brought the house down both times without even breaking a sweat, but leaving me and rest audience standing on the edge of our seats, musically shocked & awed (I admit: I still am) by their skill-sets, talent, feel, subtlety and imagination. In those days, I never really understood what the word ''Powerhouse'' ment when refering to music or bands ... Uzeb quickly remedied my naive musical oversights: feeling much better now as well for it. Time to return the favor and remind them of their former glory by pointing out how that much better and seasoned all 3 ex-members are musically at the moment - after all, the world never got it's ''''Uzeb Farewell Tour''' ...a gift to jazz-lovers everywhere they never had ...even you Chick Chorea

I'll never forget seeing them in Gaspe Quebec in 1982 ( or 83 ) and sharing a joint with Alain at the Ashinn pub after the show...best time of my life....fast emotion.

Alain Caron est impressionant ave sa F-bass 6 chordes fretless.. Ce solo come tant d'autres est impressionant .. Michel Cusson ne laisse rien a Alain.. .UZEB 4 EVER

I 've been at this concert , had a great time , this is not around anymore .... The fusion was on stage and in the audience , both Jazz and Rock fans were together .

LOL best comment thumb up...saw them live in Gaspe Q in 83 or 84 ..too high to remember exactly but I remember him moving his hips to the beat of his bass...just awesome...just f****ing awesome ...will never forget ...FAST EMOTION!!!

Ouf! Ils sont incroyables! Je les avais un peu oubliés mais là en tombant dessus ici par hasard, je vais ressortir mon exemplaire de l'album live world tour double de UZEB. Il est exceptionnel que de pareils techniciens présentent en même temps un si haut niveau de créativité. À un cheveu de la perfection...

Alain Caron un "AS" du "slap bass" que j'ai déjà rencontré en personne et d'une grande générosité envers son public. Dans les années 90 lui et ses acolytes Michel Cusson "guitare" et "Paul Brochu" à la batterie, nous ont fait vivre des moments inoubliables lors de leurs passages à l'Agora du port de Québec et à la salle Albert Rousseau à Ste-Foy. Quelle belle époque évolutive pour ce genre de musique dont ils ont repoussé les limites. "UZEB" ton public est encore là et j'espère qu'un jour vous vous réunirez pour repousser encore une fois les limites du "Jazz Fusion".

Depuis 20 ans et est toujours mon préféré dans le jazz rock!

ouach! What a bass player he is! I had forgot that amazing solo... But now I think I will have to listen again to my copy of Uzeb World Tour '90. It's incredible and very rare that musicians with such a perfect technic like them are also such genious composers!

Finally somebody posted "Wake Up Call/Funkaleon" Some of Alain's finest bass work!!!!!

Caron is just awesome .. Uzeb is just phenomenal .. Just too bad is not the full medley ..

Screw rock-n-roll! this is real art in form of music. Just genius!

What a INSANE trio!. Recently i discovered this band, and i liked his music. guitarist is AWESOME. One of the best and most recently canadian bands i ever heard, along with Rush, of curse. Sorry for my english, but this is very cool.

Je suis allé les voir le 30 juin passé à la Place des Arts,après 25 ans d'absence sur scène comme groupe.Et bien c'est incroyable,ils sont encore meilleurs.Du jamais vu.Bien sûr que certains commencent à avoir des cheveux blancs,mais leur dextérité s'est encore améliorée,et leurs arrangements ont été épurés et donnent une plus grande maturité à leurs compositions.Il y avait une section de 5 cuivres en plus.Le jackpot! La signature d’UZEB ressort encore plus. Michel Cusson disait en entrevue que le groupe filmait et enregistrait tous leurs concerts suite à leur retour.On devrait être dû pour un nouveau CD ou DVD ou les deux avant les Fêtes. Yes sir!Et un retour après 25 ans,dans ce genre de musique,on est pas dans la balade ici.Incroyable.

pierre, that concert was such a shame! Show was great but terrible sound for michel... Was so sad. But when they did their outdoor concerts, it was exponentially better!!

@GaryNull Most bass players that I've listened to that have a B string usually only play D or below for effect, not consistently as part of a bassline. A low D or C can be very powerful when it's played as part of an ensemble hit.

I think that for most people the bass is somewhat hard to identify with in contrast to a regular guitar re. the inherent range of the instruments. Alain is one of the best bassists in the world, but that doesn’t change what many people are hearing?

trop méconnu du grand public Alain Caron, il a ouvert la voie a pas mal de pointure en particulier du jazz en innovant avec sa technique du "tout slappé" il a été le premier a jouer des lignes et des riffs complexes et entiers en "les slappant", on pense tjrs au Marcus, Victor, et autre Stanley mais il ne faut pas oublier Alain

Suis pas pro , mais j'ai l'impression que Paul "essaie" de suivre la basse , c'est Alain qu'a le lead ! mais je pense que c'est difficile de suivre Alain Caron dans ses solos tellement il est "dedans" chapeau les 2

D'un cote tu as Alain Caron qui te fais pleurer avec ses harmonies a peine audible (1:45) et de l'autre tu as Paul Brochu qui s'éclate pendant que toi tu te bouffes les doigts et fini la boite de Kleenex. Enfin jamais deux sans trois Michel Cusson arrive avec un solo d'une technique remarquable pour t'achever et abréger tes souffrances.
