UVA Clubs: The Science Behind Reincarnation with Dr. Jim B. Tucker (MED '89, '91)

Ғылым және технология

All alumni, friends, and families are invited to join the UVA Clubs program for an enlightening conversation with the Director of the Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS), Dr. Jim B. Tucker, who gave us a closer look at his work investigating more than 2,500 cases from around the world of children who report memories of previous lives. Dr. Tucker unpacked the science behind the phenomenon of past life memories, including details from some of his most interesting cases. His work provides persuasive evidence that some children do, in fact, possess memories of previous lives. Dr. Tucker will address how this phenomenon affects our understanding of human consciousness.
Can Mind exist separate from Brain? Is there life after death?
These are the questions driving the work at DOPS, where researchers study the nature of consciousness in life and after death, testing the boundaries of prevailing science and shaping future scientific breakthroughs. Researchers explore phenomena such as near-death experiences, children who remember past lives, altered states of consciousness, and more. Their findings challenge and expand traditional paradigms and scientific understandings about how the mind and brain work.
