You can make out a grey foundation under it that nearly matches the water.

I always preferred Upparnavik when I visited, so glad I visited Greenland in my youth.

The grey foundation of the house is creating that illusion, if it was sunny, it wouldn't look like a floating house cause then the sea would be blue.

Was more focus on the red house (in the water) than on the iceberg

Even the dig in the lower right of the screen knows something unusual is happening.

Yes, this is, in fact, a series of tsunami waves. These are small and in a very confined location, but this is the same way the big ones occur due to the displacement of water, on a much bigger scale.

No. A tsunami is a result of earthquakes and tectonic plates. These are just waves.

@@123TauruZ321 Incorrect. A tsunami is a series of waves created when water is displaced by the movement of some solid body. The size of the displacement is not what determines whether something is a tsunami or not, and while the large ones that can travel over the entire Pacific Ocean are caused by earthquake movements, small ones like what's seen here are still tsunamis. If you still don't believe me, look up the Lituya Bay tsunami in Alaska in 1958. That was immense, although it was confined to just a single bay, and was created by a landslide.

Notice at 2:10 something rising out of the water and hooking it at great speed from left to right. This object rises out of the water between camera and the iceberg and speeds to the right and out of camera range. Amazing stuff happening here.

Was this is a tsunami caused by an iceberg calving? And what the heck is up with the red house, it looks like it's suspended over the water but I can't see any pilings. I chuckled to see the dog made sure he was well out of harm's way.

Just the wave generated from the ice slipping from the berg. If it WAS a tsunami, the water would have retreated away from the shore a lot. Then it would have come back high and fast and all that you see on the shore would have been inland or underwater.

tsunamis can be small enough to barely even cause that water behavior. the water from this wave probably sucked out at least a few inches before it hit the beach

Why is there a house in the Bay with the boats, appart from the fact it looks fake and is out of proportion with the boats there is no water movement around it's base, could it be that the add on house is magical and on self thinking chains allowing floating with limited movement or just that it looks stupid and was a bad idea when the editing was done.

@Andrew H Now I can see a vertical line on the corner of the house, but it still looks wrong, like it's right on the edge of a sheer drop, obviously all to do with colour and depth perception of the camera, shame really, it removed the focus on enjoying the clip.

the iceberg rolled over and displaced some of the water around it which created the waves. pretty simple.

My lil girl asked me if where safe from a tsunami and idk we’re close to the Atlantic I live nere Boston in burbs but there’s ocean all around us so you never know how big or when it’s coming and that’s scary but I don’t want my lil kiddo worrinh etc

No not all, only the Coast citys, where i live is nearly 500m above sealevel and about 800km to the next coastline, so no problem for me ;)

What the heck did that boat go out there for? What was it trying to do, how dumb???

Soon this will be happening in most costal cities. The annoying thing is that people like Trump &Co will continue living their life in high building while the rest gets fucked up as usual.

it was Nuugaatsiaq and Illorsuit that got hit saturday. The worst being Nuugaatsiaq, where it took 11 houses and killed 4 people. You watch an old video from Uummannaq, and scream attention. Cool.
