Utkatasana and your knees: Understanding moment arms

How do different versions of utkatasana, or chair pose, affect the load on your knee joints? In this video, I cover the concept of a moment arm and explain how understanding moments arms can help up understand the forces on your joints. Recorded this in Costa Rica, so you can hear a little background noise, including howler monkeys.

    I tend to do a subsequence exploration of different utkatasana variations in my classes. The wrench moment arm analogy is a genius way to get the point across in short order, while leaving room for further exploration for those who ask outside of class.
