This monster murdered his mother and three of his siblings over a course of 5 hours. If that other brother had been home, he would have been killed too. There is no defense for his actions and him getting basically life imprisonment is the least he should get. He would be ineligible for the death penalty anyway since he committed the act when he was a minor.

Also I have a grandson that has no remorse for his actions. Jailed twice by 16, he sits in juvy for his crimes. First denial, then accepting the charges. Maximum sentence? There is only one rational sentence under the Hebrew tradition, which measures righteous retribution under law strictly in terms of restoration (as opposed to locking up half the country so they can subsist on the backs of the productive segment of society) for shedding innocent blood. For crimes where no restoration proves possible, only the life of the convicted can satisfy the demands of justice. Our judicial, executive, and legislative branches remain hopelessly misguided and broken as they continue making innocent Peter (society) pay for Paul's crimes.
