Usyk vs. Fury Recap & Fallout, Paul vs. Tyson Media Tour, Weekend MMA | Full Ep | Morning Kombat

Ойын-сауық

MK is back for your Monday dose of combat sports talk. Luke and BC are live with a full recap of Oleksander Usyk's massive win over Tyson Fury in a historic heavyweight fight .How shocking was it to see Usyk, the smaller man, repeatedly walk down Fury? The guys shares how they scored it. Should Usyk have a rightful claim above Inoue/Crawford/Canelo in P4P top 10 given he overcame 40 pounds to defeat Fury? What to expect in the rematch. Plus, the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson media tour rolled on. What did two-city press tour and announcement of loaded main card (Taylor-Serrano II, Till-Chavez, Sylve-Schofield) teach us about how big this fight truly is? Also, a recap of all MMA action from the weekend.

Appreciate BC and Luke's passion when it comes to boxing. Oleksandr Usyk's a generational talent, what he was able to achieve last night was nothing short of a miracle. Saw a video of him shaking hands with Holyfield prior to the fight and he was so pumped and giddy like a kid. Both him and Evander are exceptional talents, 1st-ballot hall of famers.

Why do you try hard casual fans leave comments like this , it was an extremely close amazing fight and you literally can only ball wash the winners you're the exact reason fghts like this dont get made, fury could roll over him in a rematch he was the better man on Saturday. That's what you guys have never fought before don't understand you see one fight happen and you think will he loses 100 times out of a hundred to this person now that's not how it works everything in the sport is not black and white. And you literally try to make the winner into a god it's so dorky. In that night in that moment in time they were better it's not some finite thing now we're usyk can never lose , you try hard casual fans literally ruin combat sports and make everyone hate a fighter because of his fans being so fuckin unbearable like khabibs.. and talking about evander when he's given the belt by last undisputed whose name isn't evander it's Lennox ( beat evanders ass twice) just shows you're playing pretend fishing for likes in KZread comment sections

@@stevencoardvenice You mean the few counter uppercuts that landed between rounds 3-6? Vicious beating was what happened in round 9. Google the stats for rounds 3-6 Usyk was still pressuring and those were the only rounds where Fury got Usyk off him for a little bit. Round 7 on it was the Usyk show again.

@20:00 Some people are happy the ref didn’t stop it because they didn’t want the ref to decide a fight of this importance. Well the better question is it not better for the ref to decide in a KO or the refs to decide it where they almost robbed Usyk out of the win? Because we know that was not a Split Decision that was a clear Usyk win albeit in a competitive fight, it was very clear who won. Stopping the it in the 9th would have been the correct move or let Usyk keep punching until Fury goes down.

Too many people lack heavyweight history knowledge. There have been 6.7 and 250-270 pounds giants like Buddy Baer and Primo Carnera before amongst others who were more skilled than Joshua, Wilder and similar to Fury back in the days, and with even more ko's. Usyk is just exposing these heavyweights. The smaller heavyweight is always more skilled than a giant heavyweight.

Just for the sake of the debate boxing vs mma. The reason this was a big moment for HW boxing is cuz it took 8 years for them to unify the belts cuz there’s so many belts for each division, it devalues belts. Then boxers are known to pick and choose there fights and duck the best contenders. For example Fury vs White. So it is artificially hyped for the unification of HW belts cuz if there was one belt for each division we wouldn’t have to wait years to see the best fight the best.

I gotta be honest. I really don’t see the issue with the ufc business model. We always get competitive fights. People complain of fighter pay, but hey how many people has the ufc made extremely rich. Whether through direct pay or exposure. The majority of these guys wouldn’t be rich ever. It’s definitely going up all the time. And on top of all of that it’s sustainable. The boxing model doesn’t work clearly. We celebrate boxing cards when they have competitive fights. And it will be like 2 of the fights on the entire card, when every single ufc card has probably 10 competitive fights. Every one of em. Maybe we’re a bit spoiled

I really enjoyed the boxing on the weekend but it's still not as interesting as MMA. Purley based on the rule set. Clinching rules in boxing is worse that lay and pray in mma

Regarding Fury's prime, i guess i gotta watch Fury Wilder 2 again, but has Fury ever looked better? I can't remember him doing so, but i'm new to boxing... Kinda reminds me of Strickland Adesanya, I can't tell if I just have an underdog bias cuz i thought Adesanya looked sharp as FUCK in that fight...

UFC is falling behind boxing over these past 18 months and I'm not sure Dana can turn it around or even has the fight to. He's too busy doing podcasts and hanging out with kids his son's age while Turki is making boxing huge again.

The issue is boxing always has someone losing money, there fights doesn't happen unless some really rich person is ok with taking a lose. The ufc is always cash flow positive so they will keep having a good decade while boxing is having a good year

I disagree. Boxing has been great lately, no doubt. And I know people are saying that most UFC cards nowadays are trash. I agree with that, I've already skipped more cards this year than I would have skipped from 2020-2023 combined. But the UFC ppv's (with the exception of 301) have been awesome. June is a stacked month with two ppv's and that awesome Saudi card. I love what boxing is doing but aside from the main events most of their cards are uninteresting. They are definitely putting on fights that mean as much as the big UFC fights but I wouldn't say boxing overall is better or even equal to UFC. You'll never see boxing do anything like UFC 300

Look, the OG Tyson peaked in his mid 20s becuse of lifestyle etc. Tyson is definitely closer to a tyson with lifestyle choices than the consumate pro that is usyk. I'd say in boxing years usyk is the younger. Both are in their declining years and I take nothing away from usyk, what and absolute legend.

Luke is a big Fury fan, as a lot of Americans are. But if he knew Fury’s deceitful and manipulative shenanigans in how he gaslights his fans and kept ducking legit contenders, he wouldn’t be as big a fan of him.

Usyk was born on the same day as Muhammad Ali and grew to Ali same exact measurements at 6’3” 225 lbs 78” reach including winner of Muhammad Ali Trophy. So what Usyk really did, and what many of us knew he was going to do, is the classic rope a dope. Usyk in the sweltering heat of Saudi Arabia pushed a pace going forward allowing Fury to unload his clip and in round 8 when he came out bouncing on his feet again, Fury knew he made a mistake. Usyk was asking Fury if that’s all he had. We also almost got a near identical replay of the Classic Spiral Down KO that Ali did to Foreman.

I think His Asselency should introduce his own Saudi belt made with gold, oil, blood, and the skin of an immigrant worker. Sidestep the commissions, and have your own champion who you deem worthy! No need for mandatory title fights; money will make any title fight happen.

They're already doing the big fights. Like Luke said before, we don't know how long the Saudis' interest in boxing will last. The global market cares more for football (soccer) than boxing. Plus, there's nothing more dirty and corrupt than the football industry, the Saudis' regime will feel right at home!
