You called it, Duke. Along with many of us, who aren’t biased and trying to be invited to the Fury fights. Usyk will go down as an absolute great, Fury will go down as a myth.

Usyk exposed a lot of myths yesterday, not just Fury. Usyk has a glass belly? Didn't look like it. Fury too big for Usyk? Usyk had him all over the place in the 9th. Fury has a great chin? Well he was saved from getting stopped by the ref and has now been down 8 times. AJ has a glass jaw? Well at least he never got knocked down by Usyk in 24 rounds of boxing.

Both men deserve respect imo. Sorry to say, but some of you Usyk fans are now in danger of becoming just like the Fury fans you despise. If you belittle Fury and his abilities (or call him a myth) you automatically undermine Usyk's achievement in beating him.

That’s so true. He is literally incredible. Skills close to Ali and believe me I would NEVER say that about ANYONE in heavyweight history. To me Ali is the greatest for skills and courage, and his achievements at heavyweight make him the best. Usyk unfortunately cannot match the longevity, but by god his skills and courage are a match for Ali. 👍🇬🇧

I first took an interest in Usyk after watching the Glowacki fight when he won the WBO cruiserweight title in 2016. His balance, footwork and boxing instinct just stood out a mile. He has been my favourite active fighter since the Huck fight in 2017. Huck was arrogant and disrespectful to him in & out of the ring, and got well punished for it.

Fury put on a great fight, though, credit where it’s due but the reason he was ducking was made clear last night. I think Fury can beat Usyk, but no one can deny that it’s a close fight in any re-run. Hopefully the Fury fanboy simps will at least realise that even if Fury gets him in the rematch

Usyk's victory proves that size alone doesn't trump great skills, heart, will, a clean lifestyle, reflexes, and a solid chin. His win reinforces the idea that Muhammad Ali, with his unparalleled talent and tenacity, would have been more than capable of handling today's heavyweights, including Fury. Ali's speed, agility, and tactical brilliance were legendary. He faced some of the toughest opponents in boxing history and always found a way to emerge victorious, not just with brute force but with superior strategy and an indomitable spirit. Ali's fights were masterclasses in the art of boxing, combining physical prowess with psychological warfare. His ability to "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" would have been a formidable challenge for any modern heavyweight. Usyk's triumph is a testament to the enduring supremacy of skill over mere physicality in the sport of boxing, echoing Ali's legacy and proving that true greatness transcends eras.

Yeah, but what you are somewhat overlooking is that it takes a GREAT smaller man to beat a much larger, skilled, tough, big man. There's only few that could do it in the entire history of the sport. Usyk, Ali, probably Holmes and a couple of others. That's it.

What’s scary about some of these pundits is one or all of them had earlier probably picked Belly as their favourite to win. Oleksander Usyk has gone on record to prove all doubters wrong. I can still hear their famous quote ringing in my head: “A good big man will always beat a good smaller man.” See how these four panelist’s are heaping praise on Usyk. Duke Mackenzie had earlier picked Usyk to win.

The Fury vs. Usyk fight was an electrifying, back-and-forth battle. Usyk shone in the opening rounds, showcasing his skill and leaving the rounds close enough for either fighter to claim. But then came the middle rounds, where Fury truly came alive. With perfect distance, range, and movement, he dominated the ring, outboxing Usyk and making it seem like a knockout was within his grasp if he had just pushed harder. But then, the 8th round arrived, and something changed. Fury, inexplicably, seemed to step back, taking two rounds off and nearly getting knocked out in the 9th. It was baffling-why didn't he continue with the strategy that had worked so well? Why didn't he keep Usyk at a distance, hit, and move with the same intensity? The urgency from Fury and his corner was missing when it mattered most. This lack of pressure allowed Usyk to seize the moment, turning the tide in the latter rounds. In those final moments, Usyk capitalized on Fury's hesitation, securing the victory that slipped through Fury's fingers.

The rematch between Usyk v Fury would be awesome. Unfortunately it won’t be for Undisputed again which sucks coz for Usyk to make a defense would be historic (again) and Fury would have a chance to get all the belts back. However, if Usyk won that then got to fight the IBF holder that’d be to become a 2 x Heavyweight Undisputed in the four belt era. That wouldn’t be beaten for a loooooong time. But, everything could change tomorrow lol

I get sick of the corrupt politics of boxing tbh. We finally get one undisputed heavyweight champion and then the money boys want to break up the belts again so some lesser fighter can call himself champion. It's not done for the benefit of the sport or fans, but so the alphabet boys can each control their own champion and every promotor can sell lots of fights to the casuals as being for some kind of "World Title". This is why we will never again have another undisputed HW champion with 8 or 9 defences like Ali or Tyson, let alone another Joe Louis.

@@davidmccann9811 couldn’t agree more. And it also screws up people’s careers. Look at all the mandatories AJ had to do for example rather than picking who he wanted. All just to keep the three belts he had in the hope he could add the fourth one. And many more examples besides of course. I tried explaining it to my wife and she just looked at me and said, “Well that’s just stupid” to which I had to say, “Yup. Yes it is.”

Fury had the height; reach and weight advantage. There was only one boxer in that ring though. Fury was shown up and the generosity of the judges made this closer than it was. Round 6 was Fury best round and hurt Usky slightly but when it mattered he got battered. Now Fury and Josua can fight for the title of best of the rest. Usky should not do a rematch. Why do you always need rematch clauses. You got beat and move on to the next challenger.

I'd love to see the number one and number two ranked in each organisation have a bout and then move forward in a tournament like the super six. Final bout winner takes all. Obviously would have to be Saudi as they can financially structure such a tournament.

The problem with Fury fans is they got carried away with the Wilder fights because they were entertaining. The fact is Wilder got a right hand and that's it, it's easy to look good against him if you have decent skills. Outside of Wilder and an old Klitschko his record of Quality wins is poor and that caught up with him. Also the talk of Mike Tyson, Holyfield too small etc... was always laughable. A cruiserweight, same size and weight as Holyfield just beat Fury and probably was robbed of a KO by the Ref. Size matters with average/Good cruiserweights and heavyweights. But, When dealing with 'GREAT' cruiserweight/Heavyweights it's completely different. Fury's only had 4 defences of his title - Wilder 3, Chisora 3 (How that was made is a joke), Whyte and Usyk. He lost one of them. Add in an awful exhibition with Ngannou which he arguably lost imo, it's not 'All time great' stuff. Maybe he will prove to be later down the line if he beats Usyk 'fair' and Usyk's not robbed in the rematch, and then goes on & beats AJ, dubois or Hrgovic etc... but, he needs more to be considered great.

He should’ve been tying up with him and laying on him. Fury is so much bigger and yes Usyk has great footwork but look at all the times Fury gets dropped in his career or hurt, he’s moving away from his opponent with his chin in the air for the taking

When he did hold centre of the ring in middle rounds he was having success, Chisora showed the blueprint, Fury even said before the fight uou font tin from a smaller southpaw? As for Usysk , classibc performance exceot he started quicker then he normally does, but Usysk so good he exhausts his opponents in the earlier tounds then goes up a gear in the chsmpionship rounds. .Got to be one if not the GOAT ?
