Kristie Mewis played for the USWNT in 2013 and '14 before falling off the radar. She battled back to earn a spot in 2020, and could make the roster for a World Cup for the first time. The Women's World Cup opens in Australia and New Zealand in late July.

She's so solid in the midfield- how could they NOT put her on the roster??!! This WWC is going to be a battle!
I hope she gets a spot. She's come a long way & has fought her way back with such class & perseverance! She has such an inspiring story & has been such a warrior getting back in the NT. I just hope that if she gets the spot, this foolish coach plays her because he tends to slack with that & hardly ever gives her any minutes! Anyways, I believe in her & know she'll be in mark my words!
Her comeback has been inspiring, especially after 7 years of being cut from the national team. I hope she makes it, although it's sad she won't be able to be there with Sam.

Kristie is the best passing midfielder in the NWSL, hands down. Starting midfield for The Cup should be Mewis, Ertz, LaVelle, and Sullivan.

Sadly, I don't believe they repeat as champions. They have lost too many key players.
