***
This is Noor's version of the evergreen Sindhi melody, called Koyhari. This piece was recorded a short walk from Noor's home, incidentally in a village in Balochistan that is actually named Sindhi Paso. This spot may look like a desert to you but Noor calls it the jungle. It is his special place, where he went to practice his music for decades, and sought inspiration in its sights and sounds.
The Koyhari melody has been rendered by many vocalists and instrumentalists over the years and Noor's rendition reflects all the colours of Koyhari that he has absorbed in his life. The famous Sindhi folk song, Pere Pawandi Saan, is also sung to this melody. The song is about the story of two lovers, Sassui who was from Sindh, and Punhhun, who was from Makran, Balochistan, where Noor Bakhsh still lives. Shah Abdul Lateef Bhittai also evoked this story in his poetry, and Noor never forgets to mention that his musicality owes a great debt to Bhittai, whose dua is a seminal part of Noor's playing.

Beautiful! I know little of this style of music, but could relate to it through so many different musical traditions of the world (Blues, Appalachian, African diasporic…)

To get more subscribers, the people who run this channel can ask KZreadrs with lots of subscribers to promote this music. It would also help if there recordings were uploaded more regularly. Otherwise, you could do some research into how KZread recommendation algorithms function. I’m not an expert about this topic, but I hope it’s helpful.
