Ustad Ghulam Hassan Shaggan- Raag Adana
LMF proudly present a rendition of Raag Adana by Gwalior Gharana's senior vocalist Ustad Ghulam Hassan Shaggan. The 87 year old maestro was the first recipient of LMF's 'Lifetime Achievement Award', presented by the illustrious Farida Khanum and Gwalior gharana's Ustad Fateh Ali Khan. The ceremony and performance took place at LMF's Gharana Festival on 29th April 2014. Supporting the ustad are son Qadir Ali and grandson Muslim Hassan. Tabla accompaniment is provided by Kashif Ali Dani, Harmonium by Mohammad Aslam and Ghulam Sabir provides support on the tanpura.

Beautiful rendition by the one of the great masters. Its amazing he continued to sing with such enthusiasm right up till his final days. Truly God gifted!! This reminded me of a bandish in Raag Adana by his father Bhai Lal Amritsari. I've not come across it on youtube yet. Perhaps I shall upload it soon.
