Perhaps the best music in the world! I'm an avid listener of Carnatic music, it is divine for me, but nothing so soothing to this have i heard till date! Showers my soul with bliss!

He was a simple, straight man with unimaginable talents. Between 05:20-05:36 he emphasized on a typical mandr saptak barhat that Ustad Amir Khan was famous for and quickly asked, 'Amir khan sahab ne aana tha'..

Saifuddin Abdullah Thanks for your keen observation. But concentration in the mandra-saptak notes was not the forte of Bade Ghulam saab. It was only a novelty that he tried only for a while. Amir Khan saab would have spent at least twenty minutes on the lower notes. The philosophies of these two stalwarts were entirely different. Amir Khan sought slow repose in his music, while for Bade Ghulamji it was speed , excitement and demonstration of taiyari. And who can deny that he had the matchless voice, full-throated and of unlimited range.

@@soumitralahiri9393 Fully agree, their Gayaki was different and though they had healthy competition but both were also immensely respectful to each other, there is a story in Kudrat Rangi Birangi where Amir Khan told in his close circle : "He have to compete with Kahn Sahib with brain, where anyone can get that kind of voice, any concert with opening Bade Golam Ali Khan Sahib starts with 70 where any other singer starts with 20-40" in another context when asked why Amir Khan sahib doesn't sing thumri in concert he replied "Aisa nahi ki kabhi socha nahi, magar Gulam ali se to acha nehi ga sakte hai, is liye koushis nehi ki". When comes to tonal quality Ustaad Bade Golam Ali Sahib is matchlees, other singers we heard or read was famous for the tasir of their tonal quality (like Ustaad Moujuddin, Pandit Bhaskar Bua, Ustaad Faiyaz Khan Sahib, Ustaad Abdul Karim Khan, Rahamat Khan Sahib, Kale Khan Sahib, Pandit Vishnu Digambar, Bhatkhandeji, or Allabande Jakiruddin JI or Chandan Choubeji in Dhrupad) sadly our generation never heard their voice or only heard very bad quality recording so we would never be able to enjoy their singing

@Ghulamhussain , Bade Ghulam Ali ji was of a rare breed who actually used to see and experience the personification of divine Raag Raginis as mentioned in Hindu shastras of yore and never hesitated from admitting it .His Gayan sadhana prevented him from falling to paralysis
