What an effortless change from Lalit to charukeshi...Sudden stop and start... Awesome, but the Lalit gets completely washed out...That urge to listen Lalit again.. Remains

I was fortunate enough to attend Sawai Gandharva Festival, when Amir Khansaab presented raga Charukeshi year 1973.

As far as I am aware, it was one of Khan sahib's live concerts at the Sadarang Music Conference in Calcutta around 1962-3, accompanied by Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh on the harmonium and UIstad Keramatulla Khan sahib on the tabla. I must have been in attendance, as I seem to recall the concert clearly.

Respectfully: perhaps it was Shyamal Bose on the tabla. In Calcutta, Acharya Amir Khan always preferred to have the Great Shyamal Bose on the tabla.

Absolute BLISS! No vocabulary can quite describe the musical purity, depth, and the profound sense of DIVINITY in Ustad Amir Khan Saheb's colossal gayaki! Deepest respects!

No one's Bhatiyar even comes close - only Ustad Amir Khan can show the wonder of dawn through his singing.

It is almost impossible to express the feelings we have while listening to Great Khan Sahab..

What an amazing performance by Ustadji. While it is sublime, the Bhatiyaar bandish is simply mind blowing. Ustadji sang it in a movie as well.
