Submariners got it like that. The "targets" get the leftovers. God Bless Submariners

But Rand actually did not die since he ended up as a captain in another episode.

I have wondered why the sub captains rarely took a first shot at the destroyer, say torpedo at low speed, then calculate a shot at the freighter with torpedo at high speed so the torpedoes would hit at roughly the same time. Or maybe they did later in the war? Some sub captains, particularly Gerrman sub captains, did line up and fire at multiple targets before the first torpedoes hit.

how did the first guy die, all he did was bump his head on the bulkhead?? if that hatch had so much trouble closing why didn't they repair it after the first occurrence, my captain would never allow something as important as a main hatch to go un-repaired.

What? The hatched was held up by 10-20 knots of water rushing against it, and air pressure trying to escape from the sub.

Beginning of the movie at Brisbane , no hills behind the river , and sure as fuck no big stupid American cars there . At Redcliffe just north of Brisbane they had R and R hotel for them , and the last hotel they used were demolished about 10 years ago . The Seabrae hotel on the seafront was one of the hotels that was used . Today there is the Mon Komo there , so folks Google Earth Redcliffe Queensland and see where some of your folks had leave . PS Redcliffe is beautiful it is a Peninsula north of Brisbane .

An officer is an educated man, he would never have said," me and Martian", it would have been, "Martian and I".

Dykers himself had quite a war record. I like this series except for episodes like this that turn into rather stupid little morality plays. I am a Vietnam combat veteran and I can assure you that nobody took war lightly and I can assure you that ALL of us combat soldiers were pretty G.D. scared. I was happy when my guys did their job, period, end of story.

Your talking about a hatch that weighed around 100 pounds of steel, then the amount of water sitting on a curved disk like a saucer.
