The Akira, Nebula, and Sovereign are probably my three favorite classes, so seeing a combination of the three is pretty cool. It works a lot better than I expected

NOBODY narrates like Retro Badger. His narration is always informative AND entertaining. I often marvel at how he is able to pilot fairly well, all while he is "diverting power from the weapons systems" to the entertainment systems. 😁

The Husnock are an interesting lot. Their starships can, as Riker said, "pulverize a planet." Thing is, Starfleet and its counterparts of that time can do the same to an Earth-like world. Garak was ready to use the Defiant's weapons to turn the new Founder's home world into a "smoking cinder" in "Broken Link." That makes me wonder if the Douwd exaggerated the Husnocks' capabilities when he tried to scare away the Enterprise.

Indeed. For the husnock we have no basis for comparison. Even the TOS era Enterprise was able to destroy a planetary surface in what, an hour or so? TNG era Enterprise-D is bound to be far more powerful than that. So, the husnock vessel as encountered by the D was a recreation yes and probably an exaggerated version to scare the ship away (interestingly the first time the douwd recreated the husnock vessel it was extremely weak in comparison to the enterprise d - probably more powerful than tos era ships but way less powerful than the d itself - it wasn't until the second encounter that the husnock ship was overpowered - so its likely the real husnock ship was potentially in line with the first recreation that was extremely weak)

Wish the Akria class looked like this officially

Wow interesting design. I agree this could be an Akira 2.0. Bloody hell for that thing having so many types of torpedos. That's one ship you don't wanna trifle with...now let's see if it'll live up to it's potential. Holy crap on two tricobalt devices taking out the Negh'var(sp?). My eyes widened at that. I'm surprised you were able to take out a Husnock ship after the second attempt lol.

The problem with the Husnock vessel is that we have no basis for comparison. The vessel encountered in TNG was a recreation by a Dowd, but it went from extremely weak (but still capable of razing a planet), to extremely strong with just a change in thought. We just don't know if a real Husnock vessel would in fact be able to surpass even a TNG Galaxy class, let alone refits and ships that came after (like the Sovereign etc.).

Crikey.. yes Akira 2.0.. just needs a cloak..The Husnock can absorb the Tri-Cobalts.. gosh.. ok.. I love the ship. and the look , style, weapons, and angle of the nacelles, hmm slipstream.. hmm love the ship and Battle Admiral.. anything Akira and This is an amazing ship.. !!!😊🖖

The Gemini easily fits right in with Trek Lore and design. I like it. I've always found it interesting that the Husnak are so feared and considered powerful but in actuality everything they did in that episode was just the Douwd doing what he deemed necessary to scare off the Enterprise. So in fact we have no idea how advanced or powerful they really were. I guess we can assume the weapons, shields, and armor were of the right type, which is just us giving the benefit of the doubt, but we have no idea how effective those things were.

Shields wrecked, in the final battle but the Akira still won. Surprised the Husnock ship exploding, didn't destroy it 🖖

The nacelles are from the Vivace class aka Voyager A. Don't think I ever saw these in Discovery.
