Gaijin really solved the bots by adding another American premium destroyer, all hail the snail

I still find it genuinely incredible how this is their answer to botting... they don't say anything in writing, but their actions show they know exactly what they're doing.... pure unbridled greed and deliberately winking at the bot-ers that they'll not fix anything for the foreseeable future. (also giving a ship that'll regularly face off against reserve destroyers just to make the starting grind that much more miserable to incentivize people into buying zhelensnewkovs and Helenas and Eugens so they can just bypass the lowest BRs entirely)

Well could be worse, I JUST started War Thunder Naval after six years playing World of War Ships. Talk about a company that hates it's community and player base! They put Sub's in the game that are damn near impossible to kill. Every time the Community ask for change or a solution they add a premium ship with god tier gimmicks and break the game even more. I have 26 premiums in that game and Submariner's just broke my back. Imagine spawning in a battle, being detected, seeing the sub (along with a message "impossible to hit target") and eating 8-10 torpedoes. All this in under 2 minutes...every...game...now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@Shaboomquisa in Naval RB, people run scripts that basically make their game into a bot account, because Premium ships have such huge modifiers that it somehow almost ALWAYS turns a profit (you can tell them easily, they're the ships that will either try shooting into the enemy spawn with their AA batteries, and/or they'll have EVERY TURRET of their main battery firing in ALL directions, or some turrets won't be aiming at all)

@@MudgeTheJudge i finished the grind for the Hood a couple days ago so i treated myself by trying out the helena. i played three games, 22 kills 2 deaths. it's stupid tanky and pours out just a merciless deluge of fire. in an uptier, you have a fighting chance. in a down tier, youre a god. highly recommend.

If that thing really makes money so well, then I'll dip my toes into naval for it

4.7-5.7 is just SL heaven in naval Any higher and you start running into BBs or playing BBs, and BBs rn just have absolutely absurd repair costs

I'm new to naval, and was surprised how much I started to enjoy it. Picked this bad boy up on your recommendation and do not regret it. And once you get the hang of aiming and have a decent crew... What a blast. And the SL is fantastic. 😎

Oddly enough, the Moffet was a mid 30's design that was eventually replaced with at least 7 similar and Fletcher(similar) class destroyers before the Gearing Class, which the USS Frank Knox is, was introduced in the late war. I doubt there will be any upgrades to the Moffet, which was made as a "Destroyer Leader" in the 30's and meant to be a go-between and fill in for a light cruiser, which probably explains why it is so heavily armed for a destroyer. The Gearings just happened to be around the time that the 5in/38cal dual mounts were put on every ship available again in favor of the single mounts. That is why there is such a huge difference in handling and performance even though the ship lacks a turret.

They really said "Let's nerf the Gearing to make the Frank Knox even more meta."

the new rn aqulia has some pretty interesting torpedo angles. it gave me a good laugh when i first saw it

Very good video thank you for the review, as the moffet is on discount right now but the knox isnt would you recomend the moffet over the knox? i want a SL grinder and american destroyers definitely seem to be the way so im torn between these 2 right now

Talk about US torpedo CAS, the torps used to have 100kg of tnt for a long time but now they got buffed to 400kg, its a one shot on everything but battleships and the BTD is a monster

G'day again Napalmratte, I definitely didn't expect to see you in that match but man you seemed to have had lady luck on your side while the rest of us foundered within the spawn heh. Sooo out of the blue question but do you intend to field the Large Light Cruiser Glorious any time soon?, For imho it definitely seems to be a fun ship and quite solid strangely.

Really nice they lowered BR from 5.0 Dev server to 4.7 on release.

I want a british premium destroyer, theyre all event vehicles but we need more modern destroyers to get people playing

I mean we expected this to happen but gees, put the moffet to 5.0 and then put this in at 4.7 and yeah blatant sales move, should be 5.3 soon depending on if it gets more players back into naval for a bit. Seeing 6.0 in the moffett is pretty tough imo, though I havent played much since coming back.

Have you tried HMS Diana yet? In theory she should be very similar to Fort Knox.

This is actually so smart by Gaijin. The 50% sale coming up means Moffit will be on sale but because the Frank Knox is a new vehicle, it's not gonna be on sale. botters and naval players may opt to buy the Frank Knox at its regular price instead of the Moffit at discounted price. Stonks

Hi Napalm. Does USS Frank Knox have the same problem with USS Gearing when enggaging target that located close in front of the ship? On USS Gearing, when you want to enggage enemy ship that is in front of the ship and closer than 1 or 2 km, you can not use the guns on B turret because it can bot depress low enough due to the very close location of A turret so that it interfering with the B turret. Also, have you tried HMS Diana, the new Daring class destroyer on BR 4.7? It is a much better than battle class in term of fire power and the ability to withstand enemy fire (front magazine located below waterline, and much more crew number)

When was the last time you played Gearing? When I spaded Gearing, it had a bug where it couldn't depress because of the sighting hood on the A turret. Supposedly, it's been fixed so you should be able to fire at least on the level.

I'm afraid they might raise BR for this one like what they did for the moffet.

I just got this ship as a battle pass / War Bonds vehicle and took it out into test drive while watching your video on a second screen. One thing I noticed is that I can't get a radar lock on an aircraft. Wondering if this is because of a nerf and also wondering what else has changed since the review.

The SAP was nerfed - both shell varieties - and the radar works but check your settings. Naval settings are not the same as for aircraft/tanks

Slight correction, USS Frank Knox costs 1600 GE, Not 1200 GE. Still dirty cheap for how much it earns

@@Napalmratte would you recommend German dreadnoughts as a whole? My only experience with them has been the sms vonn der tann & sms ostfriesland and it has been a miserable experience. The lack of AA has been a pain so far & I see no point in grinding to the Bayern and in future the helgoland . What nation has the best dreadnoughts & what is the best dreadnought / battle cruiser in game?

Its clear US had A-lot of ships and some epic heroes last standing destroyers BUUUUT milking the money from players because of premiums and .... I mean yeah this is getting out of hand but people still buy stuff that gaijin takes and make more money instead of actually fixing the game

Folks are sleeping on the Geniere. I kill Moffetts every game because Italy is constantly up tier. Playing 4.3 Italy is really 5.3. 5.7 Italy is always at least 6.3 . Pay 2 Win USA in Naval. Russia in Ground and I'm not sure about air rb. 5.0+ Italian Navy is not enjoyable due to Ganjin Pay 2 win money grab with big 3 love . Italy would be better off having a premium of the Duca Degli Abruzzi due to the faster fire rate of the smaller guns. Pola Guns are too slow so you often dont get kil credit

Im just cringing watching you play this thing, the US 127s are so utterly busted, how can anybody compete against these ships? Christ its the same BR as the Etna, Regolo and only .4 higher than the Verazzano, Corazziere or leone. Hell the undertiering dosent apply only to US TT ships seemingly, the Italian Impetuoso with the same cannons is just 4.0 for some ungodly reason

Iv tried so hard to watch this all the way to the end and its just pain to hear someone giving such a one sided arugment for why "THIS ONE IS BETTER THAN THIS ONE BECAUSE X!" I swear you literally spat the word pathetic just made me cringe dude and doubt you even more. Hence why im not going to pick you apart. "ITS CHEAPER!" YES! by a whole 150ge. $1. For that price savings lets see what we get. Less firepower as stated. So when you swing the tail out to get the extra damage on target. Moffet you DOUBLE your damage output... this you get an increase of 50%. I know which risk id rather take when showing my weak point to increase damage dealt. Better gun move speed! WOW! Because the speed of the moffets guns were SUCH a hindrance were they? Lower battle rating. This one is funny because you know? Id say the moffets BR is way better than 4.7 for reason i will explain why. 5.0 and even 5.3 is below the worst of the compression. you will still kill cleavlands and helenas with the moffet at the battle rating. But you know the biggest reason why the moffet is at a good battle rating...? Its at the same BR as the moffet. It means your games more often than not depending on playtme will be FILLED with other moffets. What does that mean? A whole lot of botting players in the moffets. With massive exploitable weakpoints. I recently had a game where i got 7 kills in 2 minutes... Not bad consider the time to kill of oh idk... 4.7 destroyers with ammo kept below the waterline. And everything related to its anti air capability, your gun elevation, rotation speed, a radar that... has a use i guess or something cus your gunners totally dont scream (AIRCRAFFT 12KM!) can go here in one lump because.... When was the last time ANYONE here tied to a plane in naval? Iv face tanked B17s in the moffet and survived. Iv dropped 1000 pound bombs directly atop, and right beside others. Slapped them with torpedos, and everything else you can think of and they survive. Cas... Is not a problem in naval. Heck iv seen THREE PLANES TOTAL this past week. Two of those were when i was doing arcade for a task. So no. The "PATHECTIC" 28mm cannons do just fine thank you. If you let an aircraft sneak up on you or even worse a PATROL BOAT because you're blind thats a fault of the player not a fault of the ship. And id rather have 4 possible shots behind me rather than 2... So all in all no... i dont think the knox is better than the moffet for a saving of 150GE. Certainly not when im going to be put into a lower battle rating where i will get LESS KILLS Simply because of the fact enemy ships dont have massive weak points you can hit in the first salvo, maybe 2. And the fact they are generally more competent because they arent moffet players...

The stats and experience I gathered Point towards the Frank Knox Bring Just a better ship. Increasing firepowet by 2 Barrels IS nice but it is Not Wörth exposing a massive ammo rack. It is funny how you spew Arguments around but are unable to Connect the dots. Be happy with the Moffett. It is a fantastic ship. Häring in this vid because Frank Knox has undisputeable advantages over it makes No Sense. Good day, Sir 🤔
