Keep at it! i know usps doesn't like it but I buy poly mailers and use there box and can still ship out 1st class and if its heavier and cheaper to not use the prepaid boxes... so usps poly bubble there box and then my poly mailer on top no1 knows what box you used:) so much cheaper

@@cameraguynewyork5125 I've done that a few times too but only because it ended up being cheaper to ship it UPS or USPS when it's a heavy item and I already had it packed for priority with priority tape and stickers all over a priority box! Lol danged if I want to re-box the whole thing at the last minute to save $10 especially on like VCRs or big ceramic cats! Lol I break out the big gray poly mailers, cut them And wrap it like a Christmas present! Lol the shipping challenge is real... i'm too scared of getting caught to do what you're doing. 😂

Just asked the postmaster about Regional A & B today and didn't really get much help. I was going to research it and saw it on your videos tonight! THANK YOU for making this clear. I will order them now! Love watching your videos while I build drafts to list!

Game changer!! Last night I was checking to see if some items would ship in a Region A, but I couldn't find that option on ebay, now I know how! And I never considered the flat rates as a second option for further locations! Thanks for always making my day!

Thank you so much for this information. I have never known where to turn for answers on these regional boxes. Asked at the post office and they didn't know. I have been selling under a couple of ebay ids. Debs*Treasures and GrandmasPlace. Under Debs I have been selling since 1999, left for awhile after the managed payments gave me a huge problem and would like to get going again under that name as well. So for me as an old timer, you are the first to really explain this and it will help tremendously. Now to revise my listings and get rid of some of those over priced shipping costs. God bless you for all your help. Oh, and I plan on buying an enema man soon. Lol!

You are welcome. Region just means that it ships at the 2 or 4 pound rate but at different costs dependng on what regiion it is going to. Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks for this! Just getting started on eBay and shipping - particularly USPS - seems like a giant, unexplained monstrosity. Thanks for also mentioning the shipping tape dispenser, I thought there were only tape guns and that looks like a better solution! Lovely organized supply shelves btw 😊

Regional Rate Box A has a 15-pound maximum for domestic shipping and a 10-pound maximum for international shipping. Regional Rate Box B has a 20-pound maximum for both domestic and international shipping. (I did not know this until your video I just googled it out of curiosity 😂 and thought I would share)

I really like using the USPS Shoe box, ships by weight but, almost everything l sell will fit in them, saves me from buying most boxes

I just came across your video about packing and saving money. I'm new, I desperately need to make extra money but when I was in school 45 years ago I was the dumb kid the slow kid but now we know Its ADD not slow children. All three of my children have ADD also. I have no help at all the help I have is amazing people like you. WOW, you have an amazing set up/workshop. All I have is a 38ft school bus with the seats taken out. That's a whole different story. Anyway, I'm wanting to turn it into my Workshop. I'm really scared to open up an eBay store tho, I have plenty of Inventory I'm ready minus the printer. Thank you for your help.

Great video Kevin. I wish I had this info when I started; would have saved me a ton on shipping. Recently, I had to ship a big 10lb item. Wouldn't fit in any flat rate or regional box. Tried Pirate Ship, same price as USPS. Turned out yucky for me. But luckily there are good teachers like the CF to help us in our journeys.

The medium and large flat rates are excellent for Poshmark sales! We can use any USPS Priority box and those are great for bundle sales or larger coats, blankets, etc

Great info Kevin! I do offer multiple shipping options on a lot of items, but never thought about flat rate for people in Alaska of Hawaii. Never to late to teach an Old Dog new tricks LOL

I think people get confused because of the word "REGIONAL", and that they can only be used to ship to certain areas of the country. On another note, the small FRB came in handy recently shipping a set of dominoes...perfect fit with no packaging or filler needed! Thanks Kevin for another informative video!

When I used regional boxes A & B on eBay, I got back charged by USPS at the end of the year through eBay (where I purchased the labels from) for underpayment for quite a few of those boxes. My post office can't explain what they're for, and it seems they may actually have something to do with distance the package is traveling rather than being all purpose.

I saved this video to come back to it when My mind gets fuzzy about this. The visuals were perfect! Thank you for the lesson!

@@kabbystevens5167 Just a little helpful FYI, you can create playlists for yourself by clicking "Save" (just above the red Subscribe button). Title this one "Ebay Help" for example. You can access your playlists by clicking the 3 horizontal lines at the top left corner of the page. This will eliminate the need to search for this or any other video you choose to save. Hope this helps.

i use the mediums often. they are great for poshmark as we can use any flatrate boxes with their labels. i dont generally use them for ebay though either.

You crack me up, tell people to get on USPS and order all those boxes but you don't need them and you toss them away, lol. I agree, I did get the large flat rate for my vintage games, what a waste. All the videos I have watched trying to figure out the Regional ones, I finally get it. I just realized I have been losing money using regular priority mail and I should have used Regional A. Thank you so much.

One thing I noticed a lot of ebay sellers do that is flat out wrong is they pad their shipping cost . Another thing I have had happen to me is the person I have got a item off of Ebay is they will used the boxes and wrap them in plain brown or some other dark color and if the Post Office ever catches them then they want to charge the person receiving the item the difference in the shipping cost. Thanks for the info keep up the good work

I once shipped 4 iron sash weights that weighed 26lbs to Cali. Regular shipping was outrageous or course. However, I knew they'd fit in a medium flat rate. I packed them very well. When the buyer got the box, the weights were missing! She said it didn't appear the box had been opened, but there's was nothing in the box. USPS paid me of course because I could prove they were there when I dropped them off (26 lbs!). I guess somebody thought they were gold bars!

I sell vintage jewelry. The small and medium flat rate boxes are pretty standard for big lots of damaged jewelry to sell to artists and crafters.

Is there a restriction on where you can send those regional boxes

I ordered a variety of the USPS boxes & envelope but used more often only the flat rate envelope & padded envelope. The other boxes are now gathering dust in my garage. I’ve known about the Region A & B boxes but never bother to find out what it is for. I always thought it’s for shipping items to a certain state in the USA. Now that you’ve explained it a flood of regrets came to my mind thinking about the items i could have shipped & save $ using this. So just to clarify Region boxes are base on weight not on location the item will be shipped to??? Thanks always for the wisdom you share.

Great info! It helped me, for sure. You have such a wonderful way of teaching which makes everything make sense. I bet your students love you. I don't think you said where you are, so I worry that someone in say, Colorado, doesn't think that shipping to CA is this huge, expensive thing, as it would be for you. Perhaps using terms such as, "across the country, " or "to a state near me" would have been better. JMHO

Hello Commonwealth Flipper, what is your best recommendations for cheaper shipping will selling dinnerwares?

Here comes the "dumb" question... I have never seen an option for the A and B boxes and many others on the ebay shipping. What am I missing? I do see the flat rate boxes but never the other box options. I have also seen a new one ebay international shipping, is it better then global ship? Thanks for all you do. I have learned so much from your videos.

There are no options to include for a shipping option. You would use it after it has been purchased on the shipping page. Click Carrier Packages at the top of the shpping page and at the bottom click Compare all services. But what you can do it do calculated shipping in your listing for 2 pounds if you know it will fit in the A box and 4 pounds if you know it will fit in the B box.

I've used the medium flat rates to send the old magazines, the big ones like Saturday Evening Post, in larger groups. I'm not sure if they would fit into a B box?

Understand about using large or medium flat rate as an option, but how do you add the option when listing? After entering weight and dimensions, it gives a high and low cost. Can’t see where you can add another option for the buyer to consider. Perhaps in the description?

So do you pay for the box at the post office or pay for the label at the post office? Or do you just print out a label and the box is good to go?

Medium flat rate is almost never the best option. Just get a regular priority box and does calculated shipping.

Kevin, can you add two or three options in a business policy for shipping? Sometimes I see someone has selected usps for calculated shipping but due to their location they could save money on another service. I’m still confused about whether I have to ship the selected service when charging one price too. Recently I had a woman in Puerto Rico select my 11 flat rate (stupid of me) and it said buyer selected USPS which would have wiped out any profit. Could I have sent ground?

so if your using a flat rate box does it mean that the rate wont change regardless of the weight?

Thanks for sharing your tips and methods with us. These are costly lessons! I have a question though. My wife and I just listed our first items on ebay this week. 8ve watched several of your videos over the last month or 2. I see you ship a ton of small low cost items. My question is, is this your primary method of ebay income? It just seems difficult to make any money selling low ticket items. And it seems like it would be difficult to make any real money at it. I guess I'm wondering what kind of items do you really focus on? How many sales do you ship daily on average and what is your primary focus? We have been trying g to stay away from items that do not produce atleast $10 in profit. Is this a mistake?
