I feel your pain. My mailman is an idiot. Now I have a cologne baking in the box for 3 days due to a holiday weekend in the TX weather. All because some idiot didn’t check the door after he closed it.

No sorry neither of those are the problem (age or cold) because I live in the desert in California, it’s hot AF here and they just installed these piece of shit mailbox systems in my complex, I’ve had about ten or so deliveries and every single time I have to fight with it for about 20 mins before I can manage to open it. I get so mad I want to kick the fing box to death 🤬

I called the post office and tell them that I couldn't open the door. The next day the mailman took it out of the parcel box and drop it off at my door. It's a pain I know, but apparently they are happy with their solution of having to take the time to come to my door and drop off my mail. Rather than replacing the lock.

This is me right now try to open the parcel box in the extremely cold weather. I try not to look so suspicious because it’s dark now and I have been here trying for 20 mins.

So I’m not the only one!!!!! I’m so sick of them just deliver it to the darn door.

Happens to me a lot after a rainstorm. Waited, came back hours later, it worked. My message to the USPS, it's 2018 people, not 1918, make locks that work even if it's raining. Is that really so hard?

I was having same issue. I ended up spraying my key with PAM cooking spray then tried again and worked perfectly.

It happened to me today. I was working on it for 30mins. The solution is a "football kick" to that mailbox, and the key can be easily inserted and I opened it.

Dude I’m literally going thru that right now it’s like the same exact one too. Mine looks exactly like this !!!! Wtf I’m pissed 😭😩

This happened to us earlier today, it cannot unlock the parcel locker which was unbelievable! We would have to complain to the postal service about this issue or rather have those packages to be delivered to the door.

Honestly I left it for a little bit, then came back and slowly turned the key and it opened

You can also try squirting graphite into the lock. Sometimes that helps.

I don't know what the deal with those locks is. New cluster boxes were put in on my route and one of the parcel lockers NEVER worked. So that's another parcel I have to schlep up to someone's door. The whole point of parcel lockers is to save me time on my route. I hate the broken locks even more than you do because I deal with them every single workday.

I'm having that problem right now! I'm so pissed !

The pins are probably stuck from being exposed to the weather. Shoot some wd-40 or silicone spray into the key slot to fix it.

I got mine to open by pushing the door as I turned the key. My package was a bit longer than the locker, so it pushed against the door.

This happens to me every time too! Like right now for example. I pay for Amazon prime to get two day shipping and it ends up being 3 cos I can't get the damn locker open!

The parcel delivery doesn't use the same locker below your mail box. I too encountered the same frustration. I sometimes had to go through all the parcel boxes to figure out which one opens. Try the following (worked for me but may not for you):Turn the key the same direction as the latch as if you are locking it (but you're not locking it- you want to open it, somehow the key is made to open left handed). Turn easy one direction, it will lock up or jam if you forcefully jiggle it repeatedly left- right-left. Hope it works for you.

This happened to me today, I spent like 20 minutes trying to open in until I just starting banging the parcel as I twisted the key and it opened lol

I had the same problem today, and the key are still in the locker it’s stuck and won’t open, I can’t even get my package.

Just happened to me for an express delivery on Christmas Eve. Guess I dont get to give out my gift til monday now cause I have the EXACT same problem. Well that and the key number that was wrote on the key is illegible. Thanks USPS and just last month they lost an express package. Just lost it, never reimbursed me the insurance either. Fuck USPS. I'd use other choices but the most online companies use them why is beyond me.

Stupid lock.. i ordered some fresh water shrimps online and left it in the parcel lock. Damn key wont work and im sure them shrimps wont survive the night since its been getting cold at night...

yes! this happened to me today on a fucking Saturday. USPS told me there was nothing they could do. My medicine is in there!!! I mentioned to the Cs rep that my medication was in there & she said "Tiffany, don't shoot the messenger!" Ummm USPS don't kill your customers thanks! Did anything work?

This just happened to me today 🤦🏽‍♀️so i waited for 3hours then i went back and slowly insert the key then slowly turn it to open and It finally open. Thanks for the tips from some of the comments i read and for posting this video👍🏻👍🏻

Literally combined all the tips in the comments section. And managed to get my box with jammed key open. Didn't have WD-40 on hand. 1. Came back after 10 minutes 2. Gave the box a "football kick" 3.Sprayed Pam non-stick cooking spray into key hole 4. Used a hammer to jam the key in further 5. Wiggled/shook the key while turning it Popped right open. Thanks everyone!

Its because the mail carriers slam the locker doors with incredible force that they cause the latch to break inside. Ours is doing the same thing, so I feel your pain..

I did this,and broke the key

I was out there in the rain (yes this time of year it was fucking raining because why not), wrestling with the damn box. I called the only post office in our area that actually answers the phone only to be told that they don't serve my zip code. I swear to god next time in prying this shit open. Btw I still have not managed to open it and came to the internet for help.

I had the same problem so I wrote on an index card saying that the parcel key wouldnt open the mailbox and attached it to the key with a rubber band and the next day my package was delivered to my door.

Got one today. Wish me luck lol

Lol. Then he found out it was the wrong box for that key....

Any tricks to get it to work? I'm in this situation right now.

Ok I read through the comments and gathered 2 tips -- 1. WD40 2. Push straight in really hard and just keep giving it different angles and pressure. Don't give up (I almost did) but it eventually turned and opened. Glad I found those tips here.

Put the key in and turn it to the right I think. I think that's how I got into it. :) good luck!

I went back with some work gloves and finally got it open. I had to wiggle the door and turn the key firmly to as far as it would go, and once it got stuck I returned to the starting position and removed the key. I continued this process until it opened. I seemed to make a little more progress every time. Good luck to anyone else that has this problem.

Couldn't open it. So what I did, I left a note in my mailbox saying, I cannot open their parcel box. On the next day, they replied and gave me a new key.

Paul Garafola print out a copy of your confirmation and write a note that you didn't get a key. My mail carrier friend says that sometimes they accidentally put the key in the parcel locker instead of the mailbox!

It's the middle of the freezing winter and I broke the key trying to turn it. You think they could make this a lot easier.

turns out the key they give you isn’t always for the parcel locker directly under your mailbox. Try the ones next to you. That did it for me

I'm going through this bs too. I need to get meds from the other locker and the dimwit postal guy didn't leave the key. I went to the post office delt with a mis informed clerk and then they tell me I they will speak with the manager and gave me a number to call usps. I never had to deal with this bullshit until they started with this crap. I'm getting annoyed and so are my neighbors. Fucking dam goverment.

Same here, but no one knew it was broken & the package sat in there for almost a week... the key was jammed in the lock & would not turn - so to others, it may seem like the other boxes with their keys in their locks when empty (the USPS driver left the key chain holder in the regular box instead of bringing the package by house to deliver). I really hate this mail system even though the subdivision is brand new (just less than 3 yrs old). Just wish it'd be the same mailbox in front of the house like the previous residence (.l.)

Pass by the same. They deposited a box for me. But as it was occupied the one that corresponded to me they put in another one 1p. That is why I did not open the door that I believed. So try another. And one of them opened. Pase por un mal rato. Haha

My key came out BENT how tf do they not see that and my stuff has been in there for a week, the funny thing is i live in an apt and i gave them my apt. number and instead of putting it there which is INCHES away from the parcel locker they put it in.
