I work at Target. Last week a lady walked past the guest service desk where I usually work. She was looking around and was on the phone with someone. She went over to the gift card section and was asking what kind the caller wanted. She took five Target store gift cards off the display. She was walking back and forth from the registers to guest service. I heard her ask the person on the phone where she should go to buy them. I guess they told her self-checkout but she said she didnt see a SCO (we don't have them at my store). I followed her as she made her way to one of the registers and stood back. She told the cashier she needed $500 on each of the cards. I immediately stepped up and asked what the cards were for. She stated exactly this scenario - drug trafficking. I had to practically BEG her not to buy the GCs (I was going to refuse the sale anyway) and kept telling her it was a scam. I called security and they came up. This entire time she is still on the phone telling the caller what i was telling her. She put it on speaker and the guy on the phone said we were lying to her! Thank goodness she finally agreed something was up. These people are disgusting.

I got that call. It was HILARIOUS! I played along and asked them what I could do to make this all go away. That I'd let the lady keep the cash in one of the packages, as it was just a drop in the bucket to my total income. She panicked and hung up.

I'm glad she got a kick out of it. These people have made it nearly impossible to do my daily patient follow up calls. I introduce myself by name, pharmacy, and title and ask for the patient by their full legal name. Then tell them I need to speak with them regarding a Rx but when I ask for a DOB, again I've already explained it's a HIPPA thing, people freak and hang up. Then, a week later, they're yelling at me because their Rx is still held up... 🤦‍♀️ I'm glad people are being more cautious but really... test me with a bogus DOB if you have to but don't just hang up. Especially if you're an autofill patient.

See, that's why I can't get the scammers to stay on the line, because I usually hit them with the easiest question - "What is my name?" Just like the intro of this call when that nasally Fuckface is rambling off charges in my NAME, I can pick public humiliation with the newspapers posting my NAME, or private with my NAME kept out of things. Unfortunately, when you do that kind of thing they just hang up. They have to think they can get money out of you before they'll get sucked into the silly nonsense.

I received a similar call. When they told me about FBI monitoring and National Security, I asked what my FISA Warrant number was. Game over. I asked this after I wasted a sufficient amount of time.

God, I can’t imagine my local newspaper having an article about my enwallment in a money laundering operation. Sounds like a Cask of Amontillado situation waiting to happen!

Circuit City, Radio Shack, Toy R Us…. this is killing me with laughter!!!!

What would be fun to try is tell them you lost your drivers license and your only allowed to drive a lawn mower and it take 20 min just to get the store on it

Most self checkouts won’t let you but ANY GC’s. At least here in NEPA. Even for a $10 iTunes card I gotta go to a regular register. Walmart, target, all the grocery stores, etc up here don’t let you do it.

I work at a Publix (southeastern supermarket chain) and they actually do have notices put up in the break room to watch out for red flags in transactions that involve gift cards, in case they’re being used in scams like this

"Let me explain you" OMG I am going to hear it in my sleep.

“Paul Anderson” called me today. I was prepared because I watched this.

Well, I just think it’s really nice that the feds call the drug dealers and give them a chance to fess up before they arrest them. A heads up keeps the game in play.

I've seen scammers accusing other KZreadrs for being Kitboga... But not you. Since they clearly know you, we're gonna need that Breaking Bad moment where you ask them to, "say my name."

They are salaried employees , usually make 15-20 k rupees in a month (roughly 200-300 dollars per month), granted they know how to work or else it can start from even less , 100-150 for newbies. You can find even degree holders in the cubicles of these offices. A Watchman in my building makes 10 k rupees a month.

I am so grateful my elderly parents were on the ball and savy. They lived in SW florida and scammers would call every day. My dad would sit and wait for his next victim. Imagine my surprise and the scammers too, when he blasted an air horn into the phone! Thank you Kit for bringing awareness to these horrible predators. I watch you every day!

My 149 year old great-grandmother got scammed with 1 of these 😭

Tell them you are 80 years old ,have a car, but your drivers license is expired. Get pulled over by the cops for outdated plates. Tell the cop you are driving because you did not know your license was expired. Get off with a phone call to your son to drive you home after your car gets impounded. Get to the store and your credit card is expired so you can't buy the card. Go to the bank for help getting a new card and find out your account has been freezed by the IRS because of unfilled taxes. Freak out over it. Have a panic attack and go to the hospital in a ambulance. Tell them you don't have a computer and your son pays all your bills for you because you don't have a bank account in your name. Keep them on the line but eventually tell them you are on social security because you are legally blind so that is why your son takes care of your bills Have fun with these new scenarios. I love watching your videos and it is a fun way to learn about the way these scams go!!!
