Great video, thanks for all the info. One question can u share or send me a copy of your study schedule. I feel as every subject is a tier 3 for me, it might be my stress levels or my test anxiety. But i would appreciate it i could compare to your schedule. thanks
Thank you for the video!!! I wanted to asked you I started doing 70-80 questions daily and according to the questions I review that material in FA. I have been doing something similar looking for the page in FA after I do the questions and write any anotations. I have been a week since started, do you consider is a good quantity of questions to consider? In the process of reviewing a block do you consider reading the elimination explication of the other answers?

Nice video, just had one doubt , is it better to read anatomy,physiology, pathology , microbiology , pharmacology in that order system after system or is going subject to subject better approach in dedicated period for an IMG?
@TheMDJourney

I prefer subject to subject - like cardiology then GI and cover everything under those topics. But then there are general copies of micro or pharm you'll have to cover individually!

Hello doctor..l need your advice in best book for study gynecologic and ophthalmologists in medical school..l need your advice necessary..and thanks
how would you structure your tiers during the day? my school doesn't really have a dedicated period, but we don't have much class time. how much time per day would you dedicate per tier? could you break that down?
@TheMDJourney
4 жыл бұрын
Great question. During your classes I would dedicate different days of the week to focus on the different tiers. For example, every day you can do 30 -60 mins of your weak topics. Every other day you can also include 30 mins of questions/review of topics you're average at. Once a week (on a day you're not doing an average topic) you can focus on doing a 30 min session on a mastery topic. Time will vary depending on how much time you have but that's how I would split it up. Hope that helped!
hello brother! I'm a 1st MBBS student. Plz do advice me what should be my strategy from the very first to score 260+ in my maiden usmle step 1 and at which year should I give the exam?
Can you make a video and what to study 2 days before exam as soon as possible because my exam is next month
@TheMDJourney
5 жыл бұрын
Added it to my list. But 2 days before the exam you should really make sure to give yourself the day before off. I would recommend making that last day (2 days prior to the exam) to be designed around confidence boosting. Make sure your feel amazing and confident for the exam. I'll try to release the video before your exam though!
What is your opinion on Zanki/lightyear pre-made decks
@TheMDJourney

Great to use throughout the year to prep. Harder to use during dedicated. But doing 10 a day will help for sure!
a huge piece of personal advice: no matter how hard you work and how you work, unfortunately large degrees of natural book smarts gives people a huge advantage over others. just letting everyone know this to not beat yourself up if you can't break a certain score
It's pass/fail now so hopefully this makes med school less stressful during the first 2 years but I can guarantee you that Step 2 has now become even more important.

When you do UWorld questions during studying (my test date is in 12 weeks), do you mix all subjects? Or are they subject specific? I just started studying last week

@TheMDJourney

Yes so after week 1 if you struggled doing cardio, do a block of card questions on random a few times that week. I prefer this method over the typical approach where you know you're covering cardio during week 3 day 5 of your prep. Here you can adjust based on your scores and weaknesses.

Great question - depends on how close you are to the real thing. If you have some time - maybe try a question bank like USMLE-Rx to go along with the first aid material. if you're close to test day then yes you can start it at the same time. I like to save the high quality questions for closer to dedicated to allow for a solid prep. Hope that helped!

I would recommend the first few months to just nail down your med school studying before trying to add step 1 studying. Maybe second semester, consider adding a resource which you can for a few mins per day (question bank, Sketchy, Physeo, Pathoma, etc.) or find a half day where you can dedicate to studying and reviewing Step 1 stuff.
I wish I listened to you sooner ;)

Hi the MD Journey, Plzz what do you think about lecturio ?? Can you tell me plzz why some programs are good to study?
@TheMDJourney

I've heard good things about them, but never used it myself. Any program that uses videos to teach (lecturio, pathoma, Physeo, Sketchy Medical, etc.) are good but require you to commit to them. If you learn via watching videos then it may help. But again I've never used it to give recs on it.

Best thing to do now is to first master the high-yield material from your second year courses. So if you see it in First Aid & your class lectures, spend some time focusing on long-term retention for those topics. If you like flashcards then you can do Bros or Zanki cards with your classes Finally, I'd recommend watching the Pathoma and/or Sketchy medical videos along your classes (depending on how much time is reasonable for you and your health.) This will make it easier when your dedicated comes around!
