I did my first job with the whip line today. I've been operating about 6 months with a 45t national truck mounted crane. It was pretty fun, I have to say.

Wow what a lift. I haven't actually seen this done before. We have rotated objects by using jacks, stands, dunnage, hook up, lift, unhook adjust, hook up lift - repeat until object is upright. Thanks for sharing!

im about to head to crane op school myself and i'm super exited and nervous but thanks to you-tube and videos likes yours ill have a sliver of knowledge going in as to not knowing much about cranes defiantly a lot more to learn cannot wait. great video btw.

I love 2 line picks!!! I only got to do it for a few days. My heaviest pick was with precast wall panels that we picked flat with 2 lines then stood them up to set. 56,000lbs ain’t nothing to sneeze at. Running that old POS Link-Belt lattice boom friction rig truck crane where after every 4 panels you need to pickup and reset,,,,, my arms and legs were jello when I went home!!!! Oh and let’s not forget that when I started my truck in the morning the WHOLE neighborhood heard my radio,,,,,,, lol fun times!!!!

To The Top Crane I was whooped after a 10 hour day. I was watching them swing precast with a hydro and I laughed at how easy it was. You didn’t really need to keep tract of 2 hoist levers, boom, swing, brakes,,,, lol

You passed those vehicles like a Boss

Mike Bradley, depending on the camera settings, it does show things out of proportion. It's kind of a trade off. If I set it to show perfect distance, I lose a lot of the width. Many thanks for the compliment and for watching! 🙂👍

@@ToTheTopCrane also a few radios would be a good investment im a certified rigger and I almost always use a radio with the crane operator or if not available a speaker phone call. most of what I do is out of line of sight with the operator

nice lift was cool to see the two winches used and wow was that close with that lift when you were getting the crane out of there

COOL! I learned something today. I always thought the rooster sheave was just so you could cable up/down faster with light loads. I picked a "bag-house" that was supposed to weigh 6,600 lbs., but once I got it off the ground it was 8,000. (full of saw dust) I realized that when I 'd try to lay it down on the semi trailer, the legs would fold up. I had to call in another crane, a 33 ton National. I tailed him, it worked but your rig is the cat's ass!

Thomas Nelson, the single top (rooster sheave) has a few uses. Line separation, a little extra reach, speed. The plus side to your bag house....at least it wasn't 100 feet in the air and they miscalculated the weight. That is the sole reason why I don't like demo work and trees. Tree work is actually fun, we always keep the pieces around 1,000 lbs. and start with at least that in tension to pre-load the boom. No drama, and it makes the job last longer. $$$ I always say, "I don't mind heights, as long as I'm looking up at 'em!" I will definitely look you up if I'm in Missouri. Thanks, I'd love a tour! @@thomasnelson2463, I am using a Hero 5 and a Hero 5 session. But, the new Hero 7 has some fantastic image stabilization. So, I may be upgrading soon.

When doing a 2 line pick from the same boom tip, have you ever had your load want to spin and twist up your lines during the pick? I've done a lot of 2 crane tailing picks and was never worried about it, but that was something i always thought could go wrong with one crane tailing. Especially if it is a long distance between the two pick points and short boom, which would create a large angle between the cables.

Looks like your shaving the man lift trailer pretty close Jimmy! Looks like the guy that needed it to get back on the ground was looking pretty nervous at the end of the vid. Nice job showing off the cranes way of crab steering and getting out of the tight places, your camera work is getting great too! What is the little strobe light for out to the right of the cab?

matt lee, I was close. But, never touched it. The guy up top was definitely keeping an eye on it though. Lol. The strobe outside shows everyone around the crane, what condition the crane is in. Green is good. Yellow= getting close to capacity. Red= at capacity or the crane is not happy about something, a fault for example. Many thanks for watching! 🙂👍

i have own two Kenworth's painted with those colors, as a driver i would want to move my truck as you mentioned once you had the stated you would like it to be moved, wonder if he was putting equipment away or something

...railroad wrecking cranes always had a "whip line" for quick handling of the lighter stuff...and the main for the heavy stuff like locomotives...

Which computer screen do you leave it on when using two winches? The pill or block?

The mystery lift appears about 10 foot tall until we see the lift up next to it on mirror view! I honestly believe you could work a YoYo if hooked to your main line!😁

Wayne Tharp, the piece was about 35 feet tall. I have never thought about trying a YoYo on the crane hook. 🤔. I'll give it a whirl if I get the chance. That would probably make a viral video (if I don't fail miserably). Thanks for the idea and for watching! 🙂👍

Where in the duty charts is the data for a lift of this nature? This is an illegal task you are performing.Read the operators manual and it will tell not to do this type of lift.I know it gets performed often in the uk,but you won’t ever see it in a method statement or lift plan........

That's actually false. In the operators manual, there is a section pertaining to lifting and up righting pieces with both winches. Tadano covers the topic in detail. I have read the manuals from cover to cover several times. It is definitely not illegal.

Only if using the jib in a Tadano. There is no load chart for it. Definitely not a good practice.
