I can see this being really useful for some hyperspecific scenarios like software developers that wanna run an app on multiple pieces of physical hardware or maybe even in data centers that have multiple separate server systems, but i also think its kinda overkill for those scenarios so i'm not sure who this monitor is meant to be for. Still a handy feature for those who need it.

Software dev here. I am literally typing this on a Samsung G9 Neo using split screen. Macbook on the left and Windows on the right. Same keyboard/mouse using InputLeap (shares mouse/keyboard, like if you were on the same computer with no lag). For this application, its godmode. PS: if you are a gamer, dont get a monitor this wide. It sucks for all the games I tried it on. Even something like DCS or MSFS sux because the field of view gets stretched towards the sides, so you dont actually get to view more area, just more pixels stretched over a bigger area, which is even less useful. Even something like world of warcraft that can render on the full thing, the UI will not be at the correct place and you have to customize it a lot, and end up with empty areas towards the sides.

I use a macbook and windows (2 windows on mac and 2 windows on win, side by side), but if I am just using windows, I use the windows power toys "fancy zones" to have the same computer do exactly what you describe (4 full height windows side by side). It works exactly like the normal auto-positioning keybinds of windows, you dont have to fiddle with window sizes manually. I never actually need 4 full size windows, so, the 4th window usually is split in half, to have Slack and Teams (what my company uses) on top of each other on the 4th window

This dual input on the same screen feature is 100% mandatory: I have currently a dual screen setup with the second screen also mirrored to a projector. I don't want the projector to have a 32:9 ratio, but I would like to have the 32:9 ratio to replace my dual screens. With running 2 inputs in the monitor at 16:9, I get the best of both worlds, able to do dual screen efficiently, and play games at 32:9 with that full immersive experience. Totally worth it.

I use the picture by picture occasionally to run 2 PCs or a PC and a game console. I'm fixing a family member's desktop and I can let it update, run scans, restore lost data, and install stuff in 1/3 of the screen while I have the other 2/3 for my PC. Of course it is amazing for gaming and is extremely immersive. I also put it on the side once and rotated the image to have an extra tall screen to see what that was like. In games your character fills most of the screen

If this screen fits on your desk, you will have the space for a 2nd device, so I don't think thats a reasonable counter argument. The usecase for this is more for people that use multiple devices at once and those devices are certainly not 2 gaming PCs. E.g. streamers that have a dedicated streaming PC, developers that want to test something easily, maybe you got a dedicated server and want to Check something on it. For just gamers this feature is useless though.

There are no reasonable use cases for this monitor. Professionals have multiple monitors that are for more expensive and specialized, not one giant monitor connected to multiple devices.

@@calvin659 @calvin659 If you buy 2 separate monitors, you will loose as much desk space as with this one. Your point simply doesn't make sense. This monitor is also not for 99.9% of people. The fact you simply say "Professionals" shows how undifferentiated your comment is. There are so many different use cases for professionals and your's with multiple special monitors really only applies to professional Video and Foto editors that need specific colour ranges. I'd never buy this, I rather go with 2 screens and accept the fact that there are bezels around the monitor and they will never be perfectly aligned. But if you have the extra spare money, this monitor is better than 2 separate monitors. And I literally mentioned what kind of people benefit from such a monitor. It's a 240hz monitor after all, you only need that for people that will play Games on it and have a top high end rig that can even hit those frames, but for Gamers alone this is to expensive. It really is best suited for gaming streamers and devs (who play a lot of games themselves usually).

@@calvin659 That's not quite correct. You can connect the same PC twice to this monitor to act as two monitors. Also, even if it were true that 99.9% of people do not have large desks, the 0.1% do. My desk is big enough to not only fit this montor but also 2 more side monitors. This montor actually costs very little compared to other hobbies such as camera and audiophile equipment. This monitor is barely the price of a single lens for photography. I think you are not the target audience. This monitor is completely sold out in the UK already, which is proof of how many people want it.

This has been a feature for the entire Samsung Ultra Wide Monitor line, starting with the CHG90, which is the first iteration of this type of monitor. I know this because I have a CHG90 and exclusively use this feature, as I love having the two monitor setup without the bezel. Something to keep in mind is with things such as, code editing. With code editing (example VS) you wouldn't be able to use the full width like you said, ALTHOUGH you still would... I've seen no serious project, or unserious for that matter, that uses a single coding file. So the screen would in that scenario be utilized by being able to keep a lot of tabs open simultaneously. Being coding the tabs talk to eachother which allows the coder to keep track of all the "code movement", or "code flow" if you will, across the tabs which can be beneficial.

It can be very useful for working with 2 computers. I do that once in a couple months working on two different branches of the same project... Logitech MX mice has a feature to switch from one desktop to other seamlessly. I think keyboards do that with a shortcut too. I'd be tempted if i was constantly using two computers at once.

I'm quite certain the intended use of the side by side pip is being able to plug in the same computer to both inputs so that it can essentially function as 2 seperate monitors with no bezel. So you could still game in 240 hz 4K on one side and have real-estate leftover, or even use the small pip to watch you tube while gaming in ultra wide mode. Still cool that multiple systems split screen gaming is possible 😂 definitely a cute idea for gamer couples and content creators

I can see PBP being useful for those setups which use a separate PC for streaming, and one for the game itself. Or for those who have a niche reason to use multiple PCs, and that program to allow you to share your Keyboard/mouse between multiple PCs. Hypothetically, I could combine my Security PC and my Gaming PC for example to one monitor, one mouse/keyboard (using Synergy), and this would allow easiest access while keeping my security PC separate from the connections that come in on gaming servers (especially including those p2p connections).

Dude.. the super wide productivity hack is not going full screen, but working with 4 documents side by side. As a paper pusher I already use 2x 16:9 screens showing for example a couple of source documents, the document I'm creating and a browser research window all at once. A super wide looks like an absolute productivity dream. Even when the browser leads you astray you have those other windows right there reminding you what you were doing. And if the screen supports splitting one feed into two screens, something I know my friend's one does, you can use windows key + arrows to quickly align windows to screen corners. Works like a charm with 2x 16:9.

ya know, I have the OLED variant, switching from the original 49 1000r curv. Odyssey G9. This really wouldn't be possible, and I was about to call you out on it until you said you have the 57" variant. I've always wondered why I stopped gaming. The days of hanging with a buddy and teaming up, definitely a plus. You have a good point as well as far as each screens resolution is. Despite it not being a flat, same sized side by side Flat "Might be less distracting" set up, this is a signature product simply because of the specs mixed with a feature I so long for. Yes, I can split screen at 120HZ on prior models I mentioned above, but It would be more easy to load up the other screen on my top screen "55 LG." Hence, having 1 person sadly blocking the view of their screen themselves. - Monitor peaking when playing with a buddy isn't really possible. Love this use case scenario.

This seems useful for some form of All In One Big Streamer setup. One large monitor for video editing for vods/clips, then split in two so the streamer can play on one side, and have a "streaming" pc with OBS or whatever other tool they use on the other end, in a easy setup.

It's called picture-by-picture and it's been on TVs and monitors for over a decade. Some 8K TVs can do 4x4K120 inputs simultaneously. Although you can use 2 PCs at the same time, which can be great for people running 2 operating systems, and you can even use the same mouse and keyboard on both systems using software as if it were a single hybrid system or use a KVM, it is more likely to be used as a secondary screen.

7:49 when you have VS code open - I don't know how you develop, but I use multiple panes, which usually include an inspector and debugger as well as two command line interfaces. This would be super sweet for that, but definitely learn your keyboard shortcuts because going allllll the way to the left for everything can get old. I run with a 21:9 for that very reason, and sometimes, it still isn't quite wide enough for me to work without interrupting my flow to change windows or resize panes.

Lol I often think the G9 is kinda way to much but I have the OG and a Neo. Being able to split the screen between two computers is pretty useful. Work on cad files with my laptop or use the m&kb for hand helds. Also single player on some games you can crank that fov up since its so wide that you kinda get an advantage lol. Felt like I could see half the ARAM map in LoL when I first got it. Realistically these things are too big to use for a single window any way. I mostly got them for a sim where I use eye tracking so size isnt so much of an issue.

PbP and PiP is not an exclusive feature for this monitor. I got a Ultrawide 34" monitor for my gaming PC 11 months ago for 500$ (one of the cheapest decent UW gaming monitors) and it also has these features. Granted it is not an ultra, ultra wide like this one, so when i split the screen I don't get two wide 4K screens, but for work it is very useful - like having two 4:3 monitors connected to the same PC, and without the bezel between the screens, it takes less space than two monitors.

In my opinion this is a really good idea, not only for things like this, but because I would use the monitor with both inputs to the same computer, I often find that having two identical monitors is more rewarding productively than having a large gaming monitor. Plus the fact that with a single switch in the menu I can play games at 32:9 super resolution with 240hz (given that anyone's graphics card can even HIT 2x4k at 240hz)
