Yeah I need to toy around with VDJ 2020. I have been using DJay Pro 2 and Rekordbox, but I learned how to DJ on VDJ, and I've heard great things about VDJ 20201

Hi Johnny, Go to: Settings/Mapping/Loop IN and switch to 'loop_halve'. Do the same for Loop Out and switch to 'loop_double'. You won't have to make that extra step with the shift key anymore:)

This is great I was thinking about upgrading to a ddj 1000 & was worried it wouldn't be fully functional & it would be missing features. You showed me it works like a dream. Thanks, I appreciate it. Peace & Love.

Good choice! I have had the DDJ 1000 for 2 years now and it is still INCREDIBLE. It still works perfectly and it is a compact version of the standard club set up. I can't say enough good things about it!

just to add to the licensing topic as i was unsure myself . i too have the VDJ pro license for the price of $299 BUT you dont have to pay in full. you can pay a monthly fee of $20 with auto payment using your CC# on their site

How did you get the information to show up in the ddj-1000 from virtual dj? And if there is a mapping where can I down load it

Why do some of them not work for me? Such as the sound color parts and knob and the FX knob like echo, spiral, delay, etc..

Good question - could be a firmware issue, or a software not being up to date issue? Because none of the controllers are specifically made for virtual dj there can be some issues with little things like that

@@DrivenUnder1000 Awesome! I actually also started on Virtual DJ and do like it a lot. One of the reasons I bought the DDj 1000 was because it was compatible with virtual DJ. I mostly use DJay Pro 2 and Rekordbox these days, but it still works super well with virtual dj :)

@@timmygtunes that's cool I started out with the DJ-SR and still love it but wanted 4 chanels bought the DJ-SZ but it's to heavy and only used it for Weddings. Then when I saw the Ddj-1000 I thought if I had that wouldn't have to change back to the default skins when I want to change effects, now that the ddj-1000 has so many. But as long as I had it I never saw the skins you where using in the video and been missing out! Didn't realize I could see all that on the skins & didn't know you could still use 4 decks in 2deck mode! Now I'm very happy cause I now how to put your logo on the record in VDJ8!

@@DrivenUnder1000 Totally! I do all different kinds of gigs, and I have done some weddings with the DDJ 1000 and it has been great. I rarely use the 3rd and 4th channel at weddings, but I usually keep my phone plugged into the 4th channel in case someone makes a request that I need to pull from the internet.

My guess is the differences are very minor, especially if you are going to use virtual DJ. Are you a Serato user?

If you go to the settings, and option you can change the cross fader curve. If you want to scratch I would put the curve setting on cut and you should be fine!

Hi guys! I just got the DJJ 1000 and hooked it up to my VDJ (latest version). The sound quality is not good at all! Very flat with no bass. It makes my Yamaha speaker sound very cheap. Has any had the same issue and know if it can be fixed? I have updated the controller to the latest firmware and have the latest Windows drivers. Any help would be amazing!

Good question. What are you using to broadcast the radio? As long as the volume is up it should be in the main output

I noticed that the mixer portion of the DDJ 1000 looks almost exactly like the DJMs. Are the effects on the mixer dependent on VDJs own effects, or independent regardless of what software it is connected into?

The mixer of the DDJ 1000 is basically a standalone mixer. So fully functional effects no matter what software effects.

A question for everyone using a DDJ 1000 with virtual DJ... I have it set up in Virtual DJ to show Camelot keys in the browser and on the decks on my laptop. How can I get the key on the jog wheel display to show in Camelot format as well?? I am scratching my head trying to figure this out. Anyone plz...

Hmm, I have never used the camelot keys (I actually know a decent amount of music theory so I prefer the actually keys). Do the regular keys show up in on the jog wheel screens?

No - it comes with a rekordbox license key. I had purchased the virtual dj pro license a long time ago. The DDJ 1000 virtual dj license is $149. Rekordbox is a great software as well.

Timmy, Is there an exact button for an echo out effect? I had an echo out effect on my DDJ - SB3, and ive gotten used to doing se really cool fade out mixes. I just bought my DDJ-1000 and cant figure out how to do a fade out on a track.

You could use the master echo FX on the DDJ 1000's mixer and then cut the fader while the echo is still on - that is what I usually do! I used the low cut echo at the end of this mix: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fp2r3KqDosTHlpM.html

Hey Timmy. I'm using MacBook pro 2015 with big sur. I have a full license I update my software and driver for virtual dj . But my master volume don't respond Also my trim volume level is very sensitive it jumps from green to red light level

I was wondering if you can control virtual only with the decks of the ddj1000 and use the mixer section, pfl, effects... as native pioneer mixer, obviously without any other audio interface. I hope you understand what I say 😅

I kind of understand?? I am not all too sure how to do it though. One thought is that you could use a separate controller and have your output of that controller into the DDJ1000 and use the FX from there. It's a pain though - probably not worth it!

@@timmygtunes I told you because I had a xdj rx 1 and in the menu you could select if the mixer acts in midi mode or only the players zone. I had tried with traktor and virtual perfectly using native mixer and only controling the software with the jogs. The audio were through the usb selected input and you could still connect another input and change between them. But without the screen and that menu I think that would only work in full controller mode. Thanks for the answer and if you find the way just let me know 🙏🏼 I'm very interested

How did you get the effects from the mixer to work on VDJ?.. I can’t seem to get there to work

I think I needed to have the FX on a specific channel and not the master. Have you been trying do turn them on with the master? Let me know if that works!

i have the SRT version of this but for some reason the crossfader does not go from deck a and b and the faders dont lower the sound when brought down is there anything in vdj preventing this or like what?

I would check the mapping in virtual DJ to see if everything is mapped properly. Since I don't have the SRT it might be an issue with the SRT mapping. I know that virtual DJ also just updated to virtual DJ 2020, so maybe that will help.

How did you get the screen layout for the DDJ1000SRT? And where did you get all the audio FX? Thank You

Bro i checked the settings..i have a ddj400 console..and when i press the hotques then the track keep playing from the hotq i pressed...and i just wanna go only to the hotq and not play the track from the hotq i selected..i dont know if there is option for this..

Question about the mic 1 & 2. Can you independently control the EQ for them? It Looks as if the EQ works them both at the same time.

Great question Andrew! To be honest, I haven't been in a whole lot of situations where I have needed to EQ both 2 mikes at the same time on this controller, but I'm pretty sure that the EQ settings are for both microphones.

How is it with the XZ? Can i use all 4 channels and enjoy all the benefits tht record box and serato do?

Not entirely sure, but my guess would be similar to the DDJ-1000. You can definitely use all 4 channels with it!

What’s your thoughts on using the mic effects? That’s one of my biggest reasons for considering this purchase since I do karaoke once a week and some singers need the reverb

The effects are actually very good - should be plenty good to slightly enhance karaoke. Anything to make the singers sound better!

When recording on the 100 SRT with virtual Dj the level on the recording is too low and the sound is too poor, any idea how to fix this issue?

It should still work, but I would make sure the software is updated and the DDJ 1000 firmware is updated as well!

They are both professional DJ softwares. Virtual DJ works with almost every controller on the market. Rekordbox works with Pioneer DJ controllers. Both softwares are great. I would say that the pioneer controllers work slightly better with rekordbox, which is expected.

Hi, do you have access to the Serato version (DDJ-1000SRT) of the controller by any chance? If so, can you try it out and note any difference in functionality (waveform display, cue points, etc.) from this one? Coz it's also officially supported by VDJ.

I have 1000srt. The difference is very critical. 😂. With srt you're stuck with the hardware effects on the srt. Vdj effects are not postfader if you try to use them. The 1000 uses vdj effects when connected to PC and hardware when disconnected. In srt, while a loop is on, you have to hold shift and press loop in/out button to half or double the loop. On the 1000 you just hit the loop in/out. No need to hit shift before. Not a big deal as you can remap srt loop to work like 1000. There's no waveform on the display. Every other thing is the same. I hope they patch the effects with a firmware because you can't use vdj effects, or later effects with the srt... SMH 🙄🙄

I don't have the SRT, but they are similar. My guess is that it is a great controller, so the question is would you rather use Serato or Rekordbox? I love rekordbox, but they are both great softwares to DJ.

Great tutorial thankyou. Any chance you have used the DDJ 1000 with virtual DJ stems ? I'm looking for a controller that has the ability to use VDJ stems the best any suggestions ?

I have not (I use VDJ every now and then but not regularly), but VDJ is great at mapping/programming settings. This controller is amazing, so I am sure you won't regret it if you get it!

Why would you consider to spend around 1.5k in this controller if you cant even afford a subscription of 300 quid for vdj that you will use for life? It comes with rekordbox licence anyway. Please stop using cracked vdj

You could turn auto gain off and control the gain levels by using the trim knobs. Let me know if that works!

Make sure the audio driver is downloaded. You will also need a virtual DJ license to use the DDJ 1000. I think it is $149 for the license

I think some of them are hardware based but some might be controlled by virtual DJ. They do work pretty well though!

I feel like the FX still go through the software in VDJ. I remember it being finnecky. You could try to remap the FX to make sure they are actually mapped the correct way

Listenign first minute of video, then he saying VDJ is for beginners. LOl ur rekordbox is outdated.
