LMMS is good

I’ve been using Soundtrap for a few years, it’s free. You can also pay for premium and stuff too, but it is free. The loops/sounds etc are also royalty free, and you can make your own beats and things. I’ve used many other DAWS and in my opinion this one is definitely the most affordable and best. Props to Spotify for making such a great DAW.

Spotify didn't make it they bought them as someone that has used soundtrap for many many years they really did help the extra effects etc. I'm loving it i write my beats on soundtrap and then mix master on FL

hey can u do a video on how to record vocals with an already complete beat ? im having trouble matching the vocals w the beat theres a lag , its giving me the hardest time!

what mic are you using for vocals and audio interface?

Jeez this almost seems easier and more intuitive than Studio One Pro.

It's good for a couple months then it's absolutely terrible. First off, It will not let me into my account even though i signed out and removed my sign in info on my old account, no matter what i do it always puts me into my old account which pisses me off, then when it finally "puts" me into my main account, it kicks me out and says "There is too many devices with this account signed in" and i made SURE that it was the only device with it signed in. I restarted my device multiple times, ive even contacted support and they never game me a response. When it doesn't say that there are too many accounts logged in it says, "The server is currently down, please try again later" and i check the website status and it says that everything is working fine. I've literally followed every single step to solve this, nothing is working. I have tried multiple times to give Soundtrap a second chance, but it doesn't ever work. I'm most likely leaving soundtrap now. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SOUNDTRAP TO ANYONE!

Great idea but the Personal Use button doesn’t work fir some of us. Pretty discouraging.

i started making music on soundtrap and i absolutely recommend it to anyone starting out with music, even with the free sounds, you can make a lot of music from hip hop to RnB to Dubstep, whatever fits your boat. The first beats on my channel are made in soundtrap, and i was even able to sell some of my soundtrap beats. If you like making music but you are unsure if you want to buy a full DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) like FL studio or Ableton, then soundtrap is the perfect option for you. get a feel for music, get a feel on how to work in a DAW, even now soundtrap is updating its sounds and loops. Also one of the best features which i wish were available in FL studio/Ableton is the Collab Feature, Where you are able to invite any friend and work simultaneously on beats or music or storytelling, whatever floats your boat. Now that im reading this back it sounds like im sponsored to say this but trust me im not lmao, im just happy that i had soundtrap to begin with and warm me up to Beatmaking instead of buying an expensive DAW.

how do i get around the monitoring limitation on windows?

Honestly, my favorite free DAW is Zynewave Podium. The free version doesn't restrict much and allows you to save projects and exporting your files to WAV

@@beatweezl You not knowing how to use it doesn't mean it's a nightmare. I've used it for 10 years, zero problems, and am not the only one.

@@Hive5ive I know how to use it. I created at least one or two songs on it but it was really clunky and awkward to use. I.e.: Left click to add a step to a pattern and right click to remove it. OMG how stupid and annoying. That's just one example.

@@beatweezl that seems like a small quibble, but beyond that point, you do know you can edit what buttons and clicks do right? They've changed the layout and buttons tons of times since I first used the paid version of sonar before it was free. I've always had my own set of clicks and commands.

Yeah you can download them, I use this all the time. The loops are royalty free too, so not only can you make your sounds but the loops are royalty free for distribution! I’m releasing an album using this DAW, I’ve used it for a few years it’s amazing.

Great review! Just a thing, this is not a free DAW, it's a DAW with a free trial that forces you to pre-input your CC info : )

@@BeatAcademy this is not true. there's a free version and a subscription. in the free version you just sign up and use it like normal but by paying the monthly subscription you get all the sounds, unlock unlimited automation, unlock glide, unlock preset saving, unlock autotune, unlock all the loops and you can actually make your own sounds instead of using a preset. You can still use the sound designer tool by choosing a free instrument that uses it and press tweak to make your own sounds but still. There's a free trial for the subscription but you are not put on a free trial automatically. this used to be the case if you used it around 2015-17 but since Spotify has been in charge this has been changed to be optional.

That was a really great DAW that I loved using but it had way too many bugs. I had to restart multiple songs in other DAWS after they became corrupt so I had to swear it off.

@@beatweezl Most DAW issues, regardless of which one you use, is usually user error during setup. I've made professional projects in cakewalk since before it was free. Never had a problem as long as yo set it up properly.

@@Hive5ive I'm talking about Tracktion here. I really wanted it to work but it was just a buggy experience. Mainly due to plugins I think.

It's not free. They will bill you for a year before sending any notice that they are charging you.

The only editorials I’ve been on are from making songs on Soundtrap which is 10% of the time
