Using Seesaw to give feedback to your students (2020)

This video shares ways in which to give feedback to your students using Seesaw, an online sharing portfolio that can be used to store children's work. Seesaw is an easy website/ app that can be accessed by teachers and by students. It is user friendly and easy to add work, as well as assess work and provide feedback through comments, voice notes and annotation.
In this video I share several examples of pieces of work, as well as ways in which you can give feedback to students effectively. I hope this will help any teachers who are having to teach from home, or even parents who may require extra support when trying to navigate the websites that teachers often use within the classroom.
My name is Katie and I am from Manchester, UK. I have been teaching both in the UK and internationally for over 7 years. I hope to be able to help others through my video content.

What year group do you teach? Wonder if it works for younger children. Really interesting. I’ve never used Seesaw.

We use Seesaw in our school for young children too! I know that many KS1 students are used to using it. Although I must admit, it takes a long time to get set up. Additionally, Seesaw doesn’t have to be used by students, it can just be used by teachers as a way of saving electronic copies of their work while they’re younger, and slowly introducing it to them as they grow. I hope this info has helped, let me know if you have any more questions 😌

For Teachers yes I thought that was the case. I know some schools use it instead of Tapestry. I can imagine it takes a long time to set up. Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

@@nm-primaryteacher832 Hi there, I use it instead of Tapestry now, it just depends how much tagging of EYFS statements you want. I just tend to put it into the Area of Learning should I need to evidence children's work. That would be the hardest thing to set up. Our kids used it during lockdown, this was our way of setting and marking work for the whole school and it worked really well for Reception too.

How do the student see any comments that I type into the comments? Is it in their notifications?
