@@brianabrianaa9964 I’m assuming you are talking about retainers, your teeth are sore for about the first week and if you don’t wear it for a little bit it hurts to put it back it. Other than that though it’s fine.

That would make your teeth darker because it gets rid of your enamel and leaves the dentin exposed (the enamel is white and shiny, the dentin is yellow and dark)

I still have the Hawley retainers I got 30 years ago after I got my metal braces off, and they still fit. I probably wear them a few times every 10 years.

Aw, I think little (keyword, little) gaps between the front two teeth are so cute! My mom has it, and I love my mom, so I've never considered it a bad thing.

I’ve had a fear of doctors and dentists since I was a young child because of a messy medical history and constant dental work being done. I had a ROOT CANAL done at SIX. Anyways, seeing you and other medical professionals on social media makes everything seem more human and I just appreciate it a lot :)

When I was a teenager I broke my first retainer and then lost the second one. My mom didn’t wanna buy me another one so my gap came back 😭

My orthodontist put brackets on the back of my teeth about a year ago, but they never have used them for anything!

It's so weird seeing people wanting to close their front tooth gap, where I am from it is seen as cute. Men might want to close it though because it seen as a very feminine trait that adds softness especially if they have a cute lisp from it. But with any beauty standard there is a width limit to the gap before you start getting made fun of.

Do they still make these kind of retainers. These are the kind I had as a kid in the 80s but the one I got as an adult looks like invisalign. Clear tray

I wiiiiiiish I had kept my retainer. My orthodontist said I should stop using it after half a year and I did. Total relapse. 😒 Anyways, fixing the une lying issues now so hopefully the second round of braces (and surgery) will give me a more sustainable result.

Funny story about my retainer , same one in video . So I got my braces off years ago && right after getting them off , I got my retainers . I told the lady it felt very uncomfortable 3/4 times , the wire was at the bottom of my teeth . It was so off but ig the lady was tired of me && sent me off . Next time I get braces ima make sure it's good

braces are pretty expensive like a couple thousand but just remeber since u want them they actually rlly suck like if u have any friends w braces u can ask them and then not all ppl look good w them on just depends like i'm getting mine in a couple months and im so scared bc i've heard it hurts so bad

@@annataylor3090 they dont always hurt. i thought mine were gonna hurt really bad but ive had them for a little over a year and its been almost completely painless! one thing to do to help with soreness is chewing sugarfree gum the ENTIRE day that you get them on/tightened. and eating a lot is good too just make sure that you chew with ALL parts of your mouth. and if you have a choice, dont use ibuprofen because its an anti inflammatory which will slow down your teeth movement because of how braces work to move them! instead use Tylenol and also if theres anything cutting your gums, wax will save your LIFE!! for the first couple of weeks i wouldnt use it unless your mouth starts bleeding, just so that your mouth can get used to the braces and you should be good to go!
