Using Projectors | Space Engineers

Ойындар

In this Space Engineers tutorial we see how to create a blueprint, then set up a projector so that we can build the blueprint. This method uses an advanced rotor instead of the popular 'landing gear/battery' method. This method removes the need for a battery and a 'disposable' projection system that would need to be re-configured each time it is build. Using a rotor means you can have a permanent projector system set up in your base to quickly manufacture small-grid blueprints with very little messing about with menu sliders. Of course, swap the projector for a large-grid version to project large-grid blueprints.

    I nice thing to have said is that you can put a switch On Off for the Build&Repair in menu 1, maybe number 9. This way you could be sure if they are operational. Another thing, you are right that absent of the build and repair it is advisable to put the projector into buildable only but this does not guarantee that all parts would be welded because we could start welding like crazy, mainly the outside stuff and miss the inner smaller components, like gyros, etc. Regular checks on the K menu would make sure we don't miss a part as it would say incomplete. On SE mode it would be advisable to actually switch ALL thrusters OFF whilst being constructed because it consumes battery power plus it does not put a strain on the rotor head, this is especially true in big builds.

  • @TallmanBradGameplay

    @TallmanBradGameplay

    I agree, an on/off switch for the BaR would be a good idea. Yes the 'k' menu for unfinished items! I wish I'd remembered to include that. Well spotted. I'm pretty sure I mentioned turning thrusters off, but I also mentioned turning them on just before creating a blueprint (in an earlier video). That's only really good if you are spawning them in. Best if they are off for blueprint building, as you said, to save unnecessary power drain. Thanks for commenting Alvarez. Some very good observations there. I appreciate it.

    You do not have to turn off your nano build and repair system to use projection. You might want projection in combat and still want buildandrepair to stay on for repair. All you need to do is disable (turn off) [ build new ] option

    Ah I see what you mean. Yeah that'd be a good one. Oooh, I might need some time to come up with a simplified system for that. As it stands at the minute it could potentially be quite complicated. Getting various sized ships welded in the same machine and then detaching them ready to be used. I like this idea. I'm going to work on that. Thanks for the suggestion game1boy.
