Although I don't think most fans know what osint even is even when there's a joke in the fandom that the fandom (directioners) are better then the FBI at research. 😂😂😂 in reality, we as a whole fandom are fairly good but not as good as people in infosec. (I'm a fan of the band and in the infosec/osint community.)

This is fun and awesome. Do you have any suggestions on training courses? Most range from $400 to $8,000. Do you work from home doing this? Sorry I am very new to your videos.

Great OSINT methodology info, thanks. Worrying to choose the home of a female celebrity and highlight the issues with this kind of security especially as women are most likely to be stalked using these methods. I know you’re highlighting the issues here, but choosing an actual house of a famous woman and basically giving step by step of how to do this for other people is kinda scary when you think of who might actually be watching these videos and what they’re watching them for. Just questioning if you could you have highlighted this methodology using a different kind of target? This feels worrying to me.

Yep. It’s hard. This video isn’t new, so the location has been public for a while. Plus Rita got married to Taika in 2022, so maybe they spend their time largely elsewhere? LA? NZ? And rent out this LDN property. If I was to do this on someone else, any idea what type of person that would be? A non-celeb? They don’t have as much protection as a celebrity. Rita and other celebrities are used to paparazzi’s knowing their home locations, so SHOULD have appropriate risk management protocols in place. And I think it’s still better to show people how to do this stuff, so that we can continue to educate and improve security. Usually there’s nothing worse than turning a blind eye. So if Rita sees this, hopefully she can tell a couple of celebrity friends to sanitise the content before it’s published. Thank you for your thoughtful comments 😊

@@garyruddellofficial I appreciate the thoughtful (non combative) reply! I’m glad you see this coming from a place of genuine concern. I guess my response would be using an entity not connected to one specific woman (building, company, landmark, etc etc). I understand that this is demonstrating finding a persons house and how you would do that, probably because most people wanting to do OSINT are searching for people- and that’s definitely helpful. I just worry about how *this* video will be searched and found - ie, guys wanting to learn how to find a famous woman’s house, and that’s concerning. I know the info is out there already, but it’s one thing for the info to be there and another for you to advertise how to find this woman’s house. We know from many many cases of stalking/harassment and violent endings that females (celebs and non celebs) are targeted like this so it’s not a hypothetical. I noticed you didn’t put the word “her” in the thumbnail graphic, which I appreciate because people will search for that exact thing. Can you see where I’m going with this? It’s already evident from the Dakota comment also on this post, no matter how jokey it is. These kind of videos (subject and description) have more potential to leave the OSINT community and cause IRL problems. I’m totally open to discussion and I’m glad you are too. I think the skills you’re teaching are useful and in depth, so thank you for sharing!

I did see it pop up, but didn't watch it for the same reason - made me feel icky. I particularly liked the video where you decipher where the instagram photo came from (real life osint video?). The methodology and pivot points were really interesting to learn about. I am going to direct message my thoughts on that - dont want to clog up your comment section. But I just think the OSINT community in general, and those sharing of investigation techniques should be leading the way with being clear on commenting on the ethics in every single video. Being careful about how videos are advertised (in thumbnails and text) and being mindful about the subjects/targets chosen to research, knowing that these techniques are used in ways that harm women every day. I know the skills you show here are meant to be transferable to any kind of search, but dodgy folk *are* out here looking for ways to find a woman on the internet's house 😥. I guess the demographics of your channel are probably mostly male too. I dunno, for example, I feel like making a series of videos aimed towards people/women being stalked/worried about being stalked, (where you can still show these techniques and clearly demonstrate why its worrying that you can find this stuff) and ways they can protect themselves online is a more beneficial video than simply adding to the tools of stalkers and saying that you hope Rita Ora has upped her security and notices these privacy mistakes and corrects them. I appreciate you being open to listening, i'm sure you'd be able to find every house on architectural digest - but I reckon you could choose a different topic and still show skills - ie: Trace Labs finding missing folks.
