using my new ARMADA WHITEWALKER 116 for the first time (on a groomer)
Season 04, Episode 108: hey squad. in an effort to keep things interesting, i decided to take my new 2024 Armada Whitewalker 116s out for a spin today at Canyons Village Park City. This isn't a review. This isn't meant to be a review. I can only deduce so much from a few runs on a mellow groomer. The ski was fun and a lot different than my 2023 Armada ARV 106 that I have been using during the early season. I am excited to try them out in some proper conditions in the future.

Wife loves that I enjoy the videos. She doesnt like it makes me so ready for ski season. Every time I watch a video I talk for an hour about how im excited for ski season. Talk about how ready to ski i am like 6-8 times a day. Love the videos! Keeping me pumped for the east coast season!

Just got a pair this week riding in Idaho. Loved them in the powder, they handled well for a wide ski on groomers.

Just found your channel I’m 51 my son 15 and I hit Loveland ski area once a Year as our father son adventure. This will be our 4th year in a row. We will probably branch out next some where different next year! How did u film the view where it looks like the camera is in front of you ? It was a sick view!!! Love your genuine vibe!!

How was the chatter on the skis when you got going faster Lucas? I have the bent Chetlers, and they chatter quite a bit at speed on groomers.

As long as you’re driving the Whitewalkers and actually rolling the ski up on edge, and not riding in the backseat they’re quiet and very little chatter. Been on them the past 3 seasons and they do just fine on soft pack, hard pack and of course they rip in pow!!

I think what I am finding is that the length of the ski really changes how the ski reacts.. Seams like there is less energy or reaction when you go longer.. At least that has been my experience..

they are pretty similar overall, but yeah the JJ has a bit more camber and less rocker than the whitewalker does.

@@LucasCatania17hardshell is a more rigid jacket extremly windproof and waterproof. Soft shells are more breathable and less waterproof and can be worn as mid layer. Hes looking for a jacket recommendation that is really waterproof & windproof

Twin tips don’t fit cause they tails flare out and they don’t get narrow enough to slip into the slot.

Yeah but you just use 2 slots with one ski in each. That’s what every other resort does, and he tried to before they told him to take the inside with him which is not typical at all.

Taking these skis out on not just a groomer, but an early season groomer may be the the biggest risk you take all season.

@@LucasCatania17 True. I was mainly projecting tbh. Me on a groomer with anything over 100 UF is worse for my health and self esteem than a tree collision under a chair lol. Your vids have been a lot of fun to watch this season and I’ve been really enjoying the cinematography. I guess it’s easier to work the angles when you’re not as worried about the pitch.
