Using MS Excel Instead of a Standard Normal Distrib Table
How to create a MS Excel spreadsheet to determine the area (probability) under the normal curve instead of a table. Given a z-score, this shows how to find the prob shaded to the left of the z-score, shaded to the right of the z-score, and shaded in between two z-scores. It uses the Excel formula called "Normsdist()".

This video from 11 years ago just saved me today. Thanks
I’m taking stats in grad school, and find it just as challenging as I did in junior college. This video will save me a lot of heartache. Thank you so much!
OMG !!! I have been spinning my wheels for 4 hours trying to figure this out in EXCEL till I saw your video. THANK YOU !!!!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks!!
Thank you this extremely helpful for my statistics class.

THank you so much this is the most helpful video I've seen so far!
I want to thank you so much. I have woke up with headaches from dreaming of not been able to get my homework done on time. I was doing this by hand. smh THANK YOU!!!!
YOU'RE MY HERO!
Great vid. Created, saved and using this handy file.
Thank you!!!! I like using excel way more than doing the formulas... way less complicated!!!
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Thank you sir🙏🙏
this is dope!!!! thank you. Now i wann make a full table how would do that?
beautiful!
is there any way we can find value of the z that lies to the right or left of z, using Excel?
Thank youuuu!
Ugh wish I found this before the end of semester :(
Excellent! Like bvbull200, I'd like to know if it can be done in reverse? Knowing the area to find the z-score? Great video and it really helps for those who don't have the calculator and only Excel.
Thanks a lot
Man!!! you are a such a bad-ass! Thank you very much! você é muuuito sinistro!
When to use distribution inverse and other exel function on this lesson?
Great!!!
Or Normalcdf on the calc
Is there a way to do the opposite? If I know the area I am concerned with is .45 of the total, how can I get Excel to tell me the associated z-value is 1.645?

I think it has something to do with the NORMSINV function. looking around right now to see if I can do anything with that
So how do I get z without looking at a table?
I would like to find out how to work it out back using excel. Let us say I have the value of normsdist and I would like to know the value
OH THANK GOD
which excel is using here??
i followed the directions to a T and it says i entered to few arguments
Doesn't work for shaded to the right. This link gives you the correct values: www.statisticshowto.datasciencecentral.com/tables/z-table/
