Its weird, when ur in a boat you cast close to the bank as you can, when ur on the bank u try n get it out far as you can. I never understood that but its an observation that we all do it. Cool channel! I wish my mom was still here, she loved fishing, dad too. Lucky to have her with ya, build those memories thats all were really built of.

I say that all of the time! Most big fish hang close to the bank and structure. Now saltwater fishing is a little different in some scenarios, especially reef fishing, or schools of bait and fishing in open water .
Great tips, I would have never thought about sun screen killing my bait. Thanks!!
ANOTHER DAY !!!!!! OUT ON THE WATER WITH MOM !!!!!! MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME 👍🏻
I have been killing in there too! The past 3 weeks the bite has been crazy in there. Great video.

THANK YOU for your advice when fishing with a popper. I just wanted to comment this on you’re newest post in hopes you would see. When I’m slow at work I watch your vids all the time (can’t sign in due to “big brother” watching at my work place). I never had luck on a popper cork until I watched how you did it and followed as such! Caught multiple speckies today! We were fishing the Rock the Dock tourney here in Wakulla county (fl panhandle). Thank you for your service in both the fishing world and in our armed forces! 🍻

Someone should target grey mullet. They fight very well and can be caught on a bit of bread. They get to a decent size and they go like the clappers when hooked.

@@BamaSaltwater True. In the UK, people tend to avoid them as they associate them with hanging around sewage outlets, but I've eaten it in New Zealand and thought it was very good. Had it smoked there too, which was better still. When I was a kid, people thought they were very hard to catch, as they had a reputation for having a soft mouth and hooks would pull out. I caught a decent one in a harbour in Ireland - the hook stayed in just fine.
If you like using popping corks, try Fairhope Rattle. They’re incredible quality handmade popping corks!
That croaker is the perfect size to use for big snook because I go fishing down towards West Palm Beach place called lake Worth out of area called snook Island and that's all we use is croakers and we catch some humongous snook but that size you just threw back was a perfect size for big snook
How is you and jj baby girl summer and cant leave out cypress loved watching him fishing for the time cool bro
Love the videos! Do you have any public spots that we can cast net at and get enough bait near gulf shores in the area?
After your third fish I wondered if you remembered to bait mama’s hook 😂 glad to see she caught some as well. Good video but I’m curious how you cook your keepers.
Thanks for the entertainment!! What kind of boat are you using??

Here down in Florida we either call them sugar trout silver trout summer trout and some areas of Florida they do call them white trout me myself I'm from Tampa and in Tampa Bay we know him as silver trout or sugar trout they are very good eating I like them with lemon pepper or some Italian seasoning a little bit of garlic and put them on a smoker they're very good eating fish my biggest silver trout weighed out at five and a half pounds and it was really good eating
The sand trout will turn to mush if you freeze it. Tastes great if cooked fresh .
Catfish are not nasty fish, bottom feeders yes, but good tasting fish overall.

I love freshwater catfish. Saltwater catfish are a different breed compared to their freshwater cousins. The saltwater catfish are not terrible but are not quite a desired species when saltwater fishing.
Hey bama, been watching you with my pop for a while now. We are originally from san diego california & u motivated us to come to florida and fish for some pompano!! Where did you go on the second day
What bottom and depth are you fishing ?
It's me again I've been a shrimp since I was 15 years old I'm 52 now that's not a hopper that's actually what they call a Mexican Brown shrimp they migrate from Mexico all the way down to Texas Louisiana Alabama to the panhandle of Florida on in the Tampa Bay at the end of winter they turn around and they migrate back to Mexico but that's a Mexican Brown shrimp also known as a hop and shrimp but it's a Mexican Brown I've caught thousands of pounds of them things they're very good eating too
what rod reel combo?
I grew up in Mobile. Where are you fishing at in this video? It looks a bit like Cotton Bayou.
Awesome video. I noticed the hook you were using appeared to be small. I have actually never fished with live bait and wanted to know your professional opinion on how you choose your hook size? Is it based on the size of the bait, type of bait or the fish you are targeting? If you choose a smaller hook does it effect hook up rate?
@BamaSaltwater
2 жыл бұрын
I normally base my hook size on the type of bait I'm using the to get the most natural presentation. I also make sure I'm mindful of the hook strength/thickness depending on the size fish I may be targeting .
wHAT ROD AND REEL ARE YOU USING HERE?
On my way to Gulf Shores today, where can I buy your pompino rigs? I love your videos, great tips and advice.

Is it necessary to use a weight with a popping cork on the line?
@BamaSaltwater
2 жыл бұрын
Not completely , but I always do, it allows that bait to stay in the desired depth rather than just swimming freely and coming up top. The weight also allows the cork to properly indicate a strike / bite. But to each their own !
