    It is a great tool, but if you place a paper on the honeycomb base, secure it with magnets, cut the reverse silhouette, place the already cut shape in the hole, it will fit perfectly, and you will be able to engrave with perfect placement, and if you make several ones, it is so much quicker as you don't have to adjust every time

    Hello Matt. I have been following you for a while now, and your videos have been greatly helpful. Please where is the origin of your red dot? Mine is the regular attachment that can be added to the laser head but the problem is that it can be so lose and moves all the time. I need something that I can tighten a bit better. What do you suggest

    Brilliant, hadn’t thought about two sided engraving but now I am keen to try. Just got the import duty invoice so not long to wait.

    Love this. Is this possible to do this using the TopWisdom controller? A video showing this would be great (hint hint)!

  • @MWLaser

    Yes I believe it does - I've been told it works well, but I have not tried it myself as I do not have a machine here with a TopWisdom controller installed

    Very nice work. I was wondering tho, what is the benefits of this over using a thinner material and cutting two shapes then laminating them with a bit of wood glue? Too cheaty?

  • @MWLaser

    @MWLaser

    that will work, but not always what the customer wants

    Maybe I missed it but I assume that you removed the circle around your target markers ( green on your cut layer) or it would have left a round cut out hole on your material rather than your (+) mark. Excellent videos, you take the time to explain in very clear terms 👍

    Maybe I missed something, but I thought you had to click something to use print and cut, so the machine knows where the 2 targets are. I am trying to do 2 sided coins, where the front and back side are different!! I need help with that and can not find anything.

    Great tip Matt, looks like LightBurn is going to be my choice over RDWorks, I've seen some great stuff with the LightBurn cameras also. Whats your opinion on using the camera for positioning etc? Best regards

  • @MWLaser

    @MWLaser

    LightBurn is the best choice and is worth every dollar spent. I have played with camera for positioning, however due to the type of work I do I have not bothered to implement it permanently yet. I do plan to on my new machine when it arrives.

    @@MWLaser thanks for your reply Matt, look forward to seeing your new toy. Just have a question for you. I have just fired up the x-y axis on my build, I'm using a Ruida 6445 controller, got them moving OK, but I'm not able to setup the machine origin via the controller. Tried in the multi origin setup but can't get it to work, do I need to set set this up via LightBurn or RDworks? Regards Ralph
