Using Instagram In Psychology - How to Use Instagram To Network in Psychology

Instagram is one of the most powerful online tools in history. As per most online platforms, psychology massively underutilises this platform to network, connect with and engage others in the field of psychology. On this weeks episode of GetPsyched, we are going to take a look at the power of Instagram in psychology, how you can use this tool to engage with bigger audiences in the field and network on a massive scale. As we go, I will run you through some of the top tips that I have utilised for GetPsyched.

Hey Mr Smith! I’ve just found your channel and I’ve been binging your amazing content. I’m currently an undergrad student on track to get my BA in psychology. I absolutely love everything that Psychology is, but I’m very unsure on how to proceed in the future ( perusing a higher degree of education or starting a career). What is your personal story and how would you advise someone like me on what to do?

Hi Harley, thanks so much for reaching out. I'm delighted you are enjoying my content. I have a couple of written blog posts about this kind of thing on getpsyched.org.uk that you might want to check out. What I would say here is that if you are wanting to pursue a career in psychology then you need to be considering postgraduate education. Your undergraduate psychology degree is a great starting point and can be very helpful for looking at positions such as being a teacher and even an Assistant Psychology role (which I did for a year prior to starting my doctorate). Is a career in psychology what you want to do? Also, Are you based in the UK? I am doing a keynote at the BPS inspiring careers event in Newcastle in November where I am talking a lot about all of this. I think the conference might be of use for you. Let me know.and thanks agaian.
