Using digilegs stilts in my owl monster costume.
These are the 'Digilegs' stilts made by the company 'Area 51' in the UK, I've used these in my Owlbeast costume and plan to do more cosplays with them in future!
Let me know in the comments what cosplay you would use these for? I'm thinking of Raven Beak from Metroid Dread, and Stolas from Helluva Boss.
I'll be uploading more shorts and original content in the coming months here on youtube, so please don't forget to subscribe for updates!

And you ALWAYS have to have a minder with you, to help with things.

I’m not a furry, but tbh I have mad respect for some of them. These consumes are so complex. People are out hear not only building stilts to imitate how an animal would walk, but then other people are teaching themselves how to walk on those stilts just to make their cosplays look more otherworldly and non-human. I don’t care what anyone says. That’s not cringe. That’s cool as hell and takes a lot of talent.

YES. EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING.
about 5 years ago i used to work for area 51 and produced these stilts myself from machining and forming the abs plastics to welding and painting the frames always amazing to see the ways they are used for costumes
the way the legs go backwards that is perfect for wolf, werewolf, dog type costumes...
Ooo now you've given me the incredible idea to make something similar but modified at the base to work more like a sprinters prosthetic, making it springy and easier to move faster while using them
That costume is so lifelike, it's actually a little unsettling. Well done!
From urban legend to cosplay tutorial. The owlman really did have a glow up.
I realize I’m a little late to this post, but it randomly showed up on my feed and my first thought when I saw the finished product was “HOLY SHIT!” That damn impressive!!
This is the reason why so many legends back then were made. I think people were just so intuitive that they could just make things made themselves look like monsters to scare people off
That is glorious! And got large Prince Stolas cosplay vibes! ❤️
how much were they? i was looking into digistilts of another brand from the UK and it could total to up to 1,400$ with shipping, and that's more than i can spend on stilts, lol. is it more or less than that?

more definition for the legs looks like an easy enough job. this is what I'm thinking, I'd remove all the padding, resize it to fit more securely, add some loop and hook (velcro) to a few strategic locations so it's secure straight to the stilt.
imagine seeing her in the forest in costume while you're on a hike or something
That is one of the most incredible costumes I've ever seen omg

this would be so cool for a harpy cosplay
You could probably use something like tights/leggings around the stilts, that way you can get more of a natural skin on flesh look for the legs as they move and you can put stuffing or silicone pads between the tights/leggings and the stilts to cover any bars and springs that stick out then add scales and feathers as needed for a more natural bird like look.

If i learned anything from those fursuit-making videos use foam not stuffing so that it will stay in the desired shape

It'd be sick if you had a long two piece cape made of feathers. It would be like wings and you can stitch bands into them for your arm, with the ends having a flexible pole in it to give it bounce and shape when you flap or hold your arms in.
DUDE THATS SO FRICKING AMAZING!!!
Omg you look like you came from the labyrinth!❤

that's amazing!!!! can u imagine seeing something like that driving down the road lol.
With those stilts you should REALLY do like a Spriggan or a Leshy. That would look BADASS.
Those stilts are pretty awesome, and expensive too as you said. Thinking I might try building my own version with some improvements such as the ability to flex the joint 90 degrees and gas charged cylinders for less effort and recovery assistance. That alone could allow for some crazy good movement, including extended jumping, etc.
Absolutely amazing reminds me of where the wild things are! Would love to see that movie remade with real people in costuming like this 😍
It's so freaking cool!
Wow! Amazing! And very freaky! Well done!

Jumping stilts work too (also once you get the hang of them), but I'd have preferred knowing about these first.

Now I know what to get if I ever want to cosplay my Draenei mechanist :D these digi-things look amazing - and your coatume doubly so!
Whoa, those are awesome!
Hide in the woods for 24 hours and scare any hikers that might come by.
Wow those are fantastic!
That looks amazing
Those legs would make a killer Sangheili cosplay. (Elites from Halo.) You could do R'tas Vadum, he's got a wound where he's missing two mandibles.
This is amazing!!! 🤯💕
Many years ago, there was a Master Costumer who did a satyr costume. He made the legs himself instead of buying them. His costumes were incredible, and he earned the accolades from the Costumer's Guild.
something more terrifying, and confusing for the onlooker: wear the digilegs under jeans (and shoes) that have been made to accommodate such long legs, then walk around doing your daily stuff in public like it was the most normal thing in the world.
I always appreciate this music artist getting love ❤
