They used to hand these out to us in Chrysler's technical training courses. We actually used them to sniff out the cause of different NVH concerns.
I picked one up at a junk shop for $1.40 without knowing what it was, it happens to be something I can totally use at work, pretty fascinating tool
Do you know if it matters what face of the engine it's placed on? Doe it have to be parallel to the plane of motion?
I hold it on any flat surface that I find on the engine.
I've had a Treysit since 1988. Got it from Tecumseh. Where your sleeve says Briggs and Stratton mine says Tecumseh.
