Музыка
Today we look at a cool bass tracking technique where you retain your direct signal and mess with an amp. it's cool, trust me.

I always love re amping bass through small guitar amps.
@MadeOnTape
Жыл бұрын
yes! we had one of those small cheap fenders set up and did some stereo amp stuff earlier that day. I chose this Ampeg cuz it was already set up 😂
Great vid! I did this in one of my vids, works so well adding the amp character

thank you! happy new year from NYC 🗽
I would say this video is: fun 👍
All the pros use a mic plus a DI to record bass. Just remember to flip the phase on one of them or you'll lose some low end (unless of course your phase is already lined up, which rarely happens)
All hail the impedance transformer! Thanks for making these videos man.

the best advice I have received from accomplished video makers that I can pass on is this: if you're being your true self then you're being cool! ....or something like that! Keep being creative! It's one of the only things we can do that is truly us
Are the D'Addario xlr to 1/4 inch adapters also the impedence converters or are not all of those adapters created equal?
@MadeOnTape
Жыл бұрын
keen eye! not all adapters are created equal and these are not impedance transformers

@Made on Tape Dude, thank YOU! I was going to order the $8 D'Addario one and something told me the tip being trs wasn't right because the PortaTwo is unbalanced, correct? So I'm taking your tip and getting the Whirlwind little Imp and while I'm at it maybe get the Hosa brand one too and see which one is better quality. The Hosa MIT-435 says it's designed to match 200R output impedance to 50K input impedance. Is that what the little Imp does too? I can't find the specs on that one.
Luv MXR pedals🤘🏻..add a MXR Q-ZONE whuch is basically a auto waa in a pedal..👍 or maybe you have an actual waa 🤔

i have an EHX bass wah and some auto wah, aka envelope filters ! thanks for watching!
Do I ignore people who say playing bass through my guitar amp will trash my amp speaker?
@MadeOnTape
Жыл бұрын
yes you should mostly ignore them. just don’t crank the volume or send high levels of sub bass to the speaker. if you’re looking for low end (70 Hz or below), you won’t get it with most guitar amps
Recording bass through a guitar amp? I'm way ahead of you. I converted the Electro-Harmonix MIG-50's Marshall-like circuit to the bass spec so I can use it as a practice and recording bass amp with the right cabinet. I won't be needing a Darkglass pedal when I'm using this as a send effect.

how cool is that!?🤘🤘🤘
Why is a reamp necessary?
@MadeOnTape
Жыл бұрын
it’s not necessary if you have a splitter for your instrument and one goes into DI and the other goes to amp. but, once something is recorded, the signal is line level, so i used the reamp to show how you can dial in tones after you recorded the DI. the reamp converts line level to instrument level
Vos vidéos sont GÉNIALES 😄👍! 👉 TOP‼ So.
