It's okay. I was scared too on my first job; it's not hard because it tells you how much change to give to the person, so there's only a little math braining unless the register broke, but not anytime soon.

​@RamboNoLove ngl, it's not even that hard because it has guides to make it easy and faster for casheir. A credit card is much easier because it pays automatically. For cash you just have to enter the amount of money that the person gave you and it will automatically give you the results of exchange and after that, the cashier will open and just pick the coins exchange.

I can never be a cashier. Customers will rush you and expect you to give them their money back within seconds and even if the system tells you how much money to give back to them you still are expected to count it perfectly within seconds. Registers should just automatically give out the money you need to give to the customer so you don’t have to count it 🤣.

Some places I've worked at that distributes their coins exactly from a machine and all I had to do was fill it every so often and give the dollar amount back to them. I'd say it was definitely helpful, only issue is that I've had a customer literally steal the whole coin machine. I'm like 👁️👄👁️ . "I can help whomever at the next register".

After just starting to use a register, every time a customer comes to pay, I’m just silently saying to myself “please use a debit card. Please use a debit card. Please use a debit card” cause then they can’t blame me for going slow, I can just blame the machine

We'd love to help you fix that! Your machine shouldn't be slow, especially if you just started using it

Does the register tell you the amount of change to give back? I think that's much better than having to do the math yourself, specially in busy days when you deal with pressure and people rushing you

That's great! POS systems can also be used for tracking inventory, generating sales reports, tracking customer data and a million other things! They might be possible without a POS, but a POS sure makes it easier!
