hell no usher didn't ruin it.. he killed it. I love both version. think of it Like this. Phil version is like a lullaby u can relax your mind body, and soul and fall asleep peaceful. and usher version is to get you in a feel good mood and dance a little. makes u happy to enjoy life. but both have the same message.. both version touch my heart.

The way Usher sings this song, just makes me weak. But I love Usher. And his voice is so soothing and he has that perfect vocal strength to perform any song great. I am forever and always going to be his fan until the end of it all. I love you Usher! You are always the best in my mind and both as an artist and person, Usher will always have a place in my heart. I only say this as a devoted fan because I love and appreciate all that Usher does.

Covers happen all the time. And an artist as talented as Usher did this song SO much justice! I could see if people were upset that a bad singer covered it, but this is a BEAUTIFUL rendition. Usher's tone is one of the best.

Disney actually was the one who paid him to do it do their remix albums they used to do for Disney channel , Jessica Simpson did Aladdin etc

Brief background: I lost my eldest brother when I was not quite 7. We were 10 years apart, oldest and youngest of five kids. He was more of a daddy figure to me than our dad, who was always at work. His sudden loss shattered our family, and of course changed my life. Decades later, on his birthday, I was thinking about him, missing him terribly, feeling sooo melancholy. I went to You Tube to play the familiar songs that comfort me at such times. I have no idea how I clicked on a song I'd never heard and din't even mean to click on. Wow. Suddenly Phil was my brother, singing to me from beyond the Veil. I listened to it over and over and over, and each time, I felt my belief in our eternal connection go deeper within me. I cried, I laughed, I came to a place of deep peace. This song will always be very special to me. Thank you, Billy.

Honestly, people shouldn't have EXTREMELY high hopes. Original is always better, but I think Usher did a good job with the song. He didn't push anything and go overboard. Good job, but of course I LOVE the original

For those saying the original is more magical...of course it's going to be more magical because it's DISNEY. You're kind of expected to feel that way with songs in their movies. No bash on any side. I personally love both equally. It's the same situation for me with Let It Go. I love Idina Menzel's version more than Demi Lovato's and it's the same reason as you guys. It's more magical. :)
