    Thorsten, love your videos. Is there a lens cap you can use on a 50 summilux black chrome will the lens hood is on in the proper orientation or do you always have to take it off to put a lens cap on?

    Similar function in my Fujifilm Xpro2 camera. I have the zoom in focus assist off so I always see full-frame when manually focusing, I never use AF. The thumb wheel on the Xpro also allows me to quickly zoom in on focus assist when I need it. Its a great little tool to have but as you say Thorsten can be distracting if ON as default. Thanks.

    If you ever wrote a book on how you become the traveling photographer I would love to here your story Torsten. I’ve been a fan of a lot of the projects you have been creating with also being a photographer and filmmaker. I don’t hold any relationship view and I know that would be one thing we would cash on with art and photography began something we both have in common. I went back to art school before the lockdowns and did a project on you. I’m trying to create something new right now with working towards my own dreams with just wanting to say that over the years you have inspired me to try and go out and create photography and filmmaking projects myself. Just to say thank you and enjoy your trip away 😊

    Thank you (from Hong Kong today). The book "A Little Book on Photography" tell some of it, and the upcoming "The Artists Guide to the Galaxy" will be a more hands-on for all artists. Tell me about the project if you like, thorsten@overgaard.dk

    @@MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard I find it faster and I don't need to change my grip on the camera. And I don't need to move the camera from my eye if using the EVF. Easier to see the options in the dark, too. But I suppose I could change that to the FN button on the back, which would be even more similar to how I'm used to it, where it was on the M (and my Nikons have it by the shutter button too).

    I think you can also custom set the rear dial… as a push in for options.

    How do you focus on moving people or objects with the OVF? Without using the liveview of course... because I don't like it and I find it rather inaccurate. The reason I have a Leica M is to do everything with the OVF. Thanks in advance for your reply, Regards.

    Hold on, when you press that button LV turns on yes but will automatically zoom in. This wont work to press 2 times and on 2nd time to zoom there is no option for that. Misleading info

  • @MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard

    It's even better: When you press the Fn button, the Live View turns on *without delay* with 10x or 5x or whichever selection you made last time, and then you click for full view *without delay* when you want that. (If the Live View turns on full-frame first, and then another click to zoom in it would take longer). Take your M11 and try it 🙂

    Live View and 5x and 10x 'zoom in' are difficult ideas to explain in words alone. I think those ideas deserve a longer, more detailed video. My M10-R doesn't have that little round button on the top right side of the camera's top plate. I think I can overcome the problem you describe by getting my subject in sharp focus and then, quickly, pressing the M10-R's shutter button five or six times in a row.

    Zone focus doesm 't work this type of photography or the type you do. 5-6 times & with a very slight move to your subject? Just wondering.

  • @Gravitys-NOT-a-force

    @Gravitys-NOT-a-force

    @@thomastuorto9929 , the method I described assumes that I'm shooting a moving subject wide open at, say, f/1.2. At f/1.2 your depth of field is extremely shallow. Using your EVF get your subject in focus for an instant and then take 5 or 6 quick shots. One - at least - of the 5 or 6 shots will be in sharp focus.
