The one thing I would have added: Go to training first! You will learn what decent gear looks like and feels like, plus you won’t be beating up your gear as you learn. After training you can hit your instructor to see if a used kit is a good deal, or old, antiquated crap. (If you are buying used)
This goes like a yammie noob video and I love it

The flattop pics 😂
Nice video with solid advice explained concisely. I'd still suggest most people buy new PPG equipment until they gain the skills to recognize and/or test whether used equipment is worth purchasing.
A must for all new pilots! Also, I come from the camp that training and instructor help will point you in the right direction. I credit my school for helping choose the best paramotor and wing that fit my skill set!

@MillionYearProgram42 I agree 100% I followed the sport for a couple years before training, but finding what size wing and style of paramotor felt comfortable was priceless.

yep. You can land safely without the motor. Not without the glider. A new glider is pretty key especially for your first one
I can't wait to have a paramotor

@@iKenFlyPPG thank you for the encouragement! I'm actually buying a wing soon
I got my first wing inspected for line strength and porosity at BA this year, 2018 Dudek 28 Uni 1.1. Porosity passed exceedingly in 4 colors. The short 'triangulated' lines at the glider (ones that will fail if any usually) barely passed however did not pass to recommended load. Time for all new A lines at minimum, including all the A lines that lead up to the glider attachments.
Thats what my instructor that I used did to me , Frame wasn't made anymore so no parts so the motor was old too and wasn't my size either
Great advice. I'm selling my older scout soon but I can say that it's still very "modern" compared to the ones you showed.
Thanks Tevor. After watching your video I found I know nothing. LoL. If I were to buy a used Paramoter. I would buy a lot more slower. Again, Thanks for your wisdom. 😊
I bought used. I got a yooda yak which is a heavy bastard but it is strong. I would love to see a review from any popular paravlogger. I got a 1 year old niviuk link 2 for 2700. Yooda yak with moster m19 for 3000.
Edited Comment.. my mistake! im flying paramotor since 2010.. my first gear had SWING ARMS... it means 14 years ago... But new designs are much better anyway

I never deleted your comment. Simmer down my friend, just because you disagree with me wouldn’t mean I’d remove your comment. And hey, Swingarms is just one thing that evolved over the last decades. I only pointed out, one thing. There’s plenty of other things. And yes swingarms have been around for a while.

Is a Walkerjet with a simopuzzlini engine a no go then?
Save the bacon!
You didn’t say much about not getting scammed… Pretty much assume anyone selling anything on facebook marketplace is out to scam you or rob you. If you’re not buying in person at a flight school or fly in or something where you can see the gear and talk to the person, and where there are witnesses… just say no. That pretty much goes for anything. In my town last night someone tried to rob a who was selling his motorcycle on marketplace. The robber got shot in the face four times so I don’t think it will happen again. But yeah, facebook marketplace is awful.

@@TrevorSteele1 actually it has never had any major damage, just carb rebuilds occasionally. I have two nitro's and I'm selling my back up because I never use it. I also have 2 airplanes and it's just becoming to much to maintain everything.
Great advice. The last thing a PPG pilot needs is to worry about the condition of his wing. But what does one do when all dealers refuse to sell you the Glider you need? 🤔

Are they refusing because you don't have a lot of experience, and they don't want to sell you a death wing? That's standard; it's good they're looking out for ya and putting your safety over their profits.
