I've recently bought Blanks and Aeons, and found exactly what you found (size US12.5). What I need are magical pair of skates with the comfort of CJ Wellsmores, the fit and finish of Blanks, and the lightness of Aeons, lol.

Yeah, I had a pair of CJ Wellsmore back in 2015 and they didn’t work out for me. I would probably weigh the CJ’s though they’re definitely lighter than the blanks but carbon fiber skates are deceptively heavy. The factions for instance are only a few ounces lighter than the blank. Probably gonna try out the Tnecs skates next because they are almost identical weight versus the aeons, but they slide like normal skates

@Kj16V size 10 TNEC = 1671grams Size 10 Aeon with blank liners and JAD Velcro straps = 1656grams

Yeah dude.... I feel really bad about it because I love rollerblade as a company and I want them to succeed. I also love Tom Hyser. This platform was actually in development before he was hired at rollerblade and he has reworked it the best that any person ever could so you gotta give him credit but at the end of the day they just really need to go back to the drawing board completely(with a completely new aggressive skate) The Blank is a really good skate but I honestly can’t recommend it. Just my opinion though..(but the scale doesn’t lie!)

Yes seriously... I’m honestly a really strong skater in great shape. I’m not being a baby or anything. They are super heavy. It’s such a shame because I know you guys know how hyped I was for the Blank skates. I would only really recommend them if you are a person that wants to skate really light freestyle frames so the overall setup isn’t too horribly heavy(or maybe someone who just wants a sturdy comfortable boot that doesn’t really jump high)

I’ve got the original blue Sam Croft 2nd skins and they are still holding up well after years of use, I got a newer pair of aeons last year also with 2nd skins and they’ve used half the amount of stitching so they come apart like yours which is disappointing. I love my aeons they’re so light and low to the ground.

Yes the skates have completely changed my skating. I thought I was declining in my skills due to age but I think I was just skating the wrong stuff. I feel 10 years younger on the Aeons!!

Great video man, especially when you gave us an actual weight comparison at the end - well appreciated! I have the blanks and really love them after I sized down from 10.5 to 9.5. I will say, they are def on the heavier side but feel so solid otherwise. I'm back to skating again after 13 years so I don't have too much to compare them to, and if anything, skating heavier will get my legs stronger over time so that the next skate I get will likely feel paper-thin like you described compared to these blanks. Wondering what frames you'd recommend switching to that would help with some of the weight issues? Featherlights? One thing I know is that not all frames fit this boot perfectly, so I want to make sure I don't order frames that I'll have to end up sending back! PS if anyone is interested in a good deal on size 10-10.5 Blank shells, plz DM me :)

@@flyingonblades so these bad boys came stock flat. I always skated antirocker back in the day but have really been enjoying the flow, speed, and control of flat. haven't gotten any wheel bite yet but also haven't done too much ledge skating and been sticking to p-rail. thanks for the quick reply btw! I should probably say I currently have Kizer Fluid V's on them right now.

@@konnyknees Oh yeah the kizer fluid is actually a pretty light frame. I would just stick with those. The featherlights would only be a very small amount lighter

Do you have the EU43/44 (originally labeled as US9-10, now labeled as US10-10.5 I believe) shell or the next bigger shell? If you're a US10.5 I hope it's the smaller one.

Are we talking the Blank or the Aeon? My blanks are labeled 28.0-28.5 in the shell and the aeons are labeled 43-44
