USC has been behind in the NIL package for now three years. It was already gonna take two years for us to have a legit team who can be a playoff and championship contender. They need to fix this shit fast because if not, it’s going to be five years. As a Trojan fan I’m done with this mediocrity

Bottom line, USC is not all in on winning. I really am jealous of schools like Ohio State, Oregon and Texas and several SEC schools. They recruit like they want to win bad. Like winning is everything. Even if it doesn't always work out, like at Texas A&M, at least they can say they gave it their best shot. That's not the feeling I get from USC at all. We're great at throwing Luaus. Not so much at paying recruits.

With all due respect people, we got to take a step back and wait this thing out because I believe we are listening to rumors and gossip about this when we really don't know. It was said that USC or the collective lied to the recruits and promise them things then reneged. First, these are business people we are talking about and the recruits are emotional, unsophisticated, customers for lack of a better word. People like this and especially people in our community always seem to get only some of the information right but never seem to understand or leave out the little details which makes the difference in any agreement. Is it possible those promises had stipulations. I mean NIL deals are not really made until the end so did they believe there was going to be some kind of payment made before they even made an official visit? Could it be the staff did not get the response they needed from these 2 guys indicating a continued interest. I mean coaches know or can sense when a recruit is playing games and or wants to take advantage of a situation then when their game does not work want to spread lies or tell half truth. These guys did not abruptly decide they were not coming to USC. Hell Gibson did not even have a official visit scheduled, now he is supposedly talking about he didn't get a payment. Get out here with that and go back to where you came from if that's what is happening here. We will get the players who show by their actions that they want to be here and then they will be well compensated. I can guarantee you Kirby Smart or their collectives ain't paying a kid who is not even willing to visit the campus after so called committing as he would be a fool to do so. For those saying USC ain't paying, hell I seen Jacoby lane in a photo driving a Range Rover the other day. USC has to be careful about recruiting some of these out of state guys which I'm sure they are.

People that work for we are SC like Mark, Eric, and the other guys they get the information on what’s going on around and work with the program and the thing is the NIL is still ass USC can’t make promises to five star kids and expect them to stay committed when the game right now is to pay to play until USC realizes that they’ll be playing with one arm tied behind their back

Wait, if they are in high school, how can they be paid? If they signed a NIL contract would they no longer be able to sign with any other school. Something isn't adding up with this story. And if this is true, you mean to tell me there were no stipulations to being paid some sort of progress payment. Gibson never even scheduled a visit and Terry waited till the last weekend to visit probably with no intent on even visiting. USC 2004 Championship Team Roster 80+ players.....58+ players from California. If it's the collectives why in the hell is Riley/AD holding on to them like we held on to Grinch? If we'd paid for a good DL or two we'd be in the playoffs to make that back.

Between the Lakers and the Trojans I'm about to cheer for a better product/program.

I am with you. But let’s be real. I was born and raised in Southern California and California is nowhere close to what it used to be. Best decision I ever made in my life was moving out of California.. If you’re a big-time recruit, why would you want to play for SC?? Especially if they can get more money elsewhere?? The campus is nice, but off-campus is a total political and economic disaster. It’s trashy, dirty, people walking around with needles stuck in their arms, and not a damn thing anyone’s doing about it.. LSU Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, Florida (to name a few) ALL have much better college football atmospheres and more crowd and fan support than USC, and it’s not even close.

Usc is not a serious football school simple as that.

It might be that USC doesn't have enough funds in the collective yet to offer the going rate to more than two 5 star DL. So it might be possible they would prefer the two 5 star DL be Elijah Griffin and Jahkeem Stewart. So they are willing to let Terry and Gibson go.
