This scene shows how close Rei and Usagi are. Rei is very kind and concerned to Usagi at times like these. In unnecessary situations, Rei always mocks Usagi not only to argue, but to try to help Usagi right her wrongs. I feel like Rei is her closest friend of all, just one higher than Mako.

Usagi looks so gorgeous with her hair down... it makes this scene even more beautiful and sad at the same time...

That's why this anime is superior to Crystal. Not because of manga things, but because of pretty good writing and character development. I love these girls for their friendship not because someone said they are friends, but because we all can see it.

I agree... even the movement of their eyes convey so much emotions that the Crystal version just does not have. Add the killer music and the Crystal can't just keep up.

This scene is so sad,usagi loves mamoru so much and misses him,and rei is really worried about her. I think that the both of them really have changed a lot since the first season too. They really are best friends. Poor usagi. she went through so much..

I think the reason why Usagi keeps the fact that she's not in touch with Mamoru is not that she doesn't trust her friends. I kept secrets like these from my closest friends at times, either because I felt embarassed of the situation or because speaking about a painful situation makes it real and definitive. As long as it's something you keep to yourself, you can keep making up excuses instead of facing the fact that the person you care about might not feel the same about you anymore. I think that's what Usagi is going through here. I felt so bad for her... 💔

Yet, she told Seiya! Nah, this isn't about Usagi being scared of making the situation "real/definitive" but more like embarrassment! And that doesn't shed a good light on her friends who tend to make fun of her for being clingy and immature! Especially Rei!! Tbh I think Rei is the main reason why she didn't tell her friends abt this, Rei has always been the worst and meanest. That's why I find this scene so ironic - especially considering that Usagi didn't answer Rei's question as to why she didn't tell her.

If I only had a friend just like Rei...

200 episodes of the original series (SM, SM-R, SM-S, SM SuperS, SM Super Stars, and 3 movies). Then there's Sailor Moon Crystal (which is actually really good) - 26 episodes in 2 series. A third series is coming this year, along with 2 new movies as well ;) I watched all of SM last year, and started watching it a second time - it's an endearing show! But my favorite part is the Black Moon Arc of Series 2 (SM-R). The Ayakashi sisters that work under Rubeus are so mean to each other, until SM saves them. Kōan is probably my favorite villain in the entire series too - and she's kinda beautiful as well ;)

I tried watching the first episode but wasn't much a fan but since you say it's good I think I might try again 😅 also I agree with you 100% about SM-R being the best season. I love how they have the future scouts and Crystal Tokyo. It's my favourite season, then the Pegasus season would be my second favourite ☺️💖👍

I just love Rei. Yeah she can come off as mean. But for the most part she’s just saying what needs to be said and doesn’t sugar coat. But she can also recognize when someone she cares about is hurting and is able to support them when they’re hurting

Usagi became really pretty in the latest seasons.

I know that Rei is the closest friend to Usagi in the 90s version, but I think, in this scene, it should be Minako who comes to talk with Usagi, since Minako herself is the senshi of love, and similar to when she comes to cheer Usagi up when Mamoru was kidnapped in the first season.

I have to say that I got a little tearied eyed. And that is something since I'm not a big cryer.

I think it's Usagi's weakness and strength : her idealism. She is very simple minded and always try to look through rose-colored glasses. She stood by her idea that everything was alright. It's an example of toxic positivity, which Rei tried to point out Usagi that she's not alright.

He changed almost everything in the English language! While in the Japanese version it is Makoto Kino in English it is changed to- Lita. Or Usagi is changed to Serena in the English version and Mamo-Chan is like Mamoru! I don't understand how they could even afford to change the names of the main characters!!! (nothing against you)

Yeah. But the enemy changed Usagi's memory and seemed like he went off to college and doesn't respond to her calls or letters. He died right after giving Usagi a ring and kissing her before he went on his airplane to America.

And when Seiya finally tells her, she breaks down. She then goes on a vengeance quest. Then EVERYONE dies, the Inner and Outer Guardians, and Chibi-Usa. Usagi must face the enemy alone, and she defeats the enemy. Then everyone gets brought back to life, and Usagi and Mamoru get married.

At times the characters noticeably look off model.

People calling Rei her "bestie" based on scenes like this is such a joke to me...Rei has been a narcissistic bully to Usagi most of the time. She always calls her a "crybaby" and "immature" - and yet she wonders why Usagi didn't tell her about the thing with Mamoru 🤡 There's a reason why she told Seiya but didn't feel comfortable telling the girls, especially Rei! Usagi must have feared that Rei once again would make fun of her for being too clingy. Fml Rei is the worst friend to Usagi if you ask me. The few moments when she's all caring don't make up for how she treats her 90% of the time. Rei has always been jealous of Usagi.
