At 13:12 he was on the chopping block yet his opponent made the wrong choice. That's not cheating but boy is Hikaru lucky in a Michael Jordan kind of way.

The idea that Hikaru is cheating is so ridiculous when you watch games such as these. The fact that he is so often 'lost' disproves the fact. At the same time this also proves that most often, his opponents are not cheating. I think it's also important at this time to cut Kramnik some slack--not due to his unsubstantiated claims--as he is clearly going through a really tough time at the moment. Likely we all know someone we care about who has gone through tough times. Doesn't mean they we should judge them at their worst.

The other day, when Hikaru played a dude who was clearly cheating in arena kings, he said that Kramnik is not wrong in some of his claims which is a super level headed thing to say about someone who accused you of cheating.

The reason that Hikaru is frequently completely lost is that, should both players follow the theory down to twenty moves, the result is most often a draw. In order to win, Hikaru has to intentionally make out-of-theory, often subpar moves in order to complicate the situation, sometimes to his own detriment, in hopes of outplaying a weaker opponent.

Nice this shows how accurate Hikaru really is

@@rendezvousonmemorylane Because at the and of all trades White has Ne6 which is a fork and there is no way of getting better for black. It very obvious but at some point you tend to miss this things plus it is actually even harder to see without the evaluation bar

It’s not really fair that Hikaru can see the evaluation bar while playing, as that can be used to inform his strategy and tactics.
