Drews and Cook just joined the team so it’ll take some time to find their rythm but still, I was expecting a lot more first ball kills in this match and better service play.

Yes, but I might be biased as I love Hentz. After watching Hentz, and how versatile her defense it, it's hard to not think, "Hentz would've gotten that", every time Wong misses a dig, that isn't that hard. At least for Morgan lol.

@@carissamoran9217i love them both but if noticed wong been off her game since week 2…the fact he didn’t even bother give he tze a chance over one of the big teams is crazy, that could have made the difference. Wong kept getting tipped on and passing inconsistent. She cannot read the game very well atm.

There’s a fine line between setting a fast tempo and making it too low for hitters to attack at the max height of their jump. Carlini is always too low. It gives opponents way too many free balls.

Karch getting bailed out by elite opposite play yet again. Playing Cook with Larson always puts so much pressure on the setter and opposite to dominate and often leads to droughts on offense from the left side with no MBH to bail them out. Neither should be playing H1, and they shouldn't be on the court together. Either Plummer or Skinner should be in the rotation behind the setter so there's more balance in the offense. Defensively, there's several balls that hit the ground with JWO that would likely be up if Hentz was playing. Great job by Thompson, Carlini, and Ogbogu carrying the load.

@@helmags That's always the excuse with him. It's not even about the best possible lineup because that's always going to be dynamic from game to game. It's about knowing each player's strengths and weaknesses and putting them in the correct positions to be successful. He should need ZERO time to know where to put Cook and Larson because they've both been on the team forever - they are both there for ball control and defense, and Plummer is there solely for offense. The other game he had Larson at H1 and Plummer at H2, just nonsensical and something that should be determined in training camp/before matches. Because he doesn't even know where to play his veterans, there's always inconsistency everywhere else (aside from opposite where Drews and Thompson have been locks and just have to swing hard). Note that several times, Thompson is swinging from the pipe in the backrow instead of the OH, meaning there's effectively 1 less attacking option and more pressure on the opposite and the front row OH. If the veterans don't know their roles/aren't put in the correct positions, how are the younger players supposed to figure out theirs and play with any confidence? Compare with how Speraw uses Muagututia...it should be more like that with Larson/Cook except for the fact that ball control/defense aren't as critical in the men's game.

I understand that cook and Larson should not be in the court together but I think the reason that they are in this game because cook just got back and needed to play more games to get conditioned and Larson also needed all the playing time she needs because she didn't play any club this season. JWO is definitely the slowest libero in the game in the sense that everyball she touches, it gets slower :( she doesn't know how to inject pace on free balls. Watch de gennaro and pusic. They bump those free balls straight to the setter hands and not 20 feet up the air. I'm tired with JWO playing the same way she played in NCAA... :(

Occhio alla pronuncia perché con la ò aperta e la s di casa, in Lombardia vuol dire un'istituzione proibita da decenni. Ho visto dei gesti atletici belli ed aggraziati della 91 Bah. Unfortunately USA has a problem called Kart Kiralky. Unfortunately they didn't know how to renew the team with strong attackers and good passers and lost their tactical intelligence. The serving is horrible. Where is Anne Drews?

They can give all the sets to thompson but it still doesn't hide the fact that she is lacking confidence. I don't understand why we have experienced opposites like kendal kipp and samedy who also played in italy (with congeliano actually) a bit and we don't even see them even in the weeks before the roster was determined. Its like he made his mind up that she was going to the olympics and didn't need to see the other options. Its totally unfair. He is a great player and coach but his stubbornness and old school style is stifling. All that depth means nothing, the way he operates. He is trying to build past olympic champions back into form when there are other fresher players waiting in vain for a shot. Hentze played one useless game vs bulgaria, meanwhile Wong has been struggling to read the ball/tips and her passing has not been anywhere near the level it needs to be. Kiraly plays his cards as if he doesn't have depth/options.

Team USA doesn’t have another open like Bartsch-Hackley who was a good blocker, stable on reception and attack. Drews has also become more predictable with her attacks. I would have picked Hancock over Carlini tbh. Washington and Ogbogu are their best middles right now with Akinradewo not on the roster. Overall, the team isn’t as hungry to win compared to last time in the Olympics. You could see it in their eyes even with injuries, they came to play.

Players like MBH are rarer …we cannot expect someone to replace her. For her height and power, she had no business being such a good passer and defender

Hmmmm…The American squad it’s not playing well at all…the reasons ??……well, other nations have already studied them and know how they play , also..there’s no power in their counterattacks, their defense it’s weak…their blocking has downgraded at levels that I’m afraid will not get fix for the Olympics , if a team such as FRANCE 🇫🇷, read again FRANCE,.a nation that is nothing in the female volleyball scene ,takes you to your limit in set 2…..something it’s not working …..
