I was a collector for a Marine Biology Museum in the early’60’s. U.S.N. The training just to make me a Safe, Qualified, SCUBA Diver, was 2 weeks of 12+ hour days. No military training other than regimentation. There were civilians in our class and it was taught by civilians. It was a VERY THOROUGH training. I was fairly confident but also knew I knew only a little. SCUBA was pretty new. I was in from 1961 - 1963. Great duty!

The only special forces unit in the military are called the army special forces (aka green berets). All the other units are known as sof (special operations forces). So the seals arent the special forces of the navy, as special forces is the name of a specific organization (army special forces) the seals are the special operations forces of the navy

27:00-28:00 - So much of this stuff is designed to be an actual test and filter system. Some people’s brains simply will not function in some of these scenarios - and it’s certainly better than having a brain failure like that in a combat situation.

Few others can match Navy Seals, for sure. I, as a Brit, of course think The SBS would prevail in any situation, The SAS also. There are other tier one Operators, but there are what I think of as Tier 1+ Units in The World,They know who they are, so I need not be repetitive or overly controversial.

Who does the seals call for rescue exaxtly...? The rangers 100% of the time. Rangers have been deployed in every combat scene America has been in since its beginning. Seals are better if water is near and its a secret they are there. Rangers are the ones pulling those guys out of a big battle though!

Is it just me or the info show these days is basically an advertisement for the USA? Every other video i seem to recall is basically how cool USA is and how strong their army is. With the occasional bad Chinese or bad Russian trope cause i guess you kinda have to if you're pro USA.

The SBS & SAS make the Seals look like a rifle platoon. Plus... How do you know someone is an ex-seal? They either tell everyone, or write a book about it.

Can't compare SBS to SEAL, closer comparison would be to DEVGRU or Seal Team Six
There are 5 smu's not 4. The isa is with the army, not cia. And the 5th is the rrc (regimental reconaissance company), part of the 75th ranger regiment
Total BS, make it sound like SAS is the easiest to join and pass, when it's the hardest

I would rather stick to video games,chess and changing car tires then go through all of their training,although learning some of their skills would probably prove useful for survival if you get caught in some really extreme situations.I could imagine they handle stress really well and are probably mostly calm individuals,though I don't know any sof people irl wherever they serve I can imagine those are the kind of people that know how to handle stressful situations and adapt well to the unknown and unexpected scenarios,that is a useful trait.
united states military recruitment is at an all tiome low. We'll see a lot of videos such as this one start popping up on our favorite channels. Your life is worth more than $60,000 a year, flip burgers instead of joining the military.
