They tried to silence him and the poets he supported. It what happens when cancel culture acquires the authority of government. This impulse can come from any side of the political spectrum. The struggle to express the truth of life continues because of his influence.

There are captions automatically generated by KZread. Unfortunately given the age of the source material and audio quality along with the speakers’ colloquial speech I don’t believe it will be too accurate. Try support.google.com/youtube/answer/100078?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

I should say accessibility is of huge importance to me since I have low vision issues. I will look into sending the audio off for transcription or writing a program to help make that possible. But since this is first and foremost a labor of love and a preservation project I may not be able to address your concerns as quickly as I’d like.

i remember Ezra Pound inviting William Carlos Williams to come away from America and join the poets in Paris, he did not....no one read the Cantos anymore but Williams walking out the door and into the streets is still read....

Well, people DO still read the Cantos, myself included, because they are shot thru with gold amidst the dross, and even the dross, in proper context, can be interesting, but I get what you're saying, and WCW is the more vital, more relevant poet.

Academics and scholars did all they could to bind the art of poetry only to themselves. But the aristocrats always fail and so did they. I hope you get a better perspective sometime in your life. Peace.
