Who’s ready for an EPIC tug-of-war?!
Mat’s set up in a Hennessey Mammoth, and he’s about to face off against a couple of Bowler Defender rally challenge cars!
Now let’s start off with the Mammoth because the stats on this pick-up are absolutely insane!
It started life as a Dodge Ram TRX, which is equipped with a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that can deliver 702hp. However, Hennessey has gone to work on this already powerful pick-up, and as a result, it now delivers an amazing 1026hp and 1,314Nm of torque! It also weighs in at a colossal 3,200kg!
Then we have the Bowler, which is equipped with the usual 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine as found in the usual Land Rover Defender. However, Bowler has gone to work on it, adding in new suspension & chassis so that it’s prepped for rallying! It’s also a fair bit lighter than the Mammoth, weighing in at 2,200kg.
So, it may be a foregone conclusion what happens in the first tug of war… But what will happen when we add a couple of Bowlers to the mix? There’s only one way to find out - LET’S TUG!

With 12 tires and all that combined pulling force, I a shocked at how well the Mammoth did on that last pull.

the problem I've got with the final test is the do actually have to be all 3 next to each other for it to actually be fair, putting that one in the from basically give a better point of advantage and all for the rear 2 to act like anchors with also pulling and the front to be a straight pulling force

@@A_m_i_y_a Yes they will call if you see MG cars which was a small spots car company but now it's makeing Chinese car . there are certain company which does not lose their DNA such as Land Rover and Jaguar ,lotus if you take Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan are same car that v10 which it has is developed by Audi so Lamborghini has German Engineering on it same case with Bugatti w16 is actually extended version of w8 engine in vw Passat and w12 in Bentley and Rolls Royce uses BMW V12 so this car has uk car brand but underneath all of them is there parent company
The defender actually defended itself by digging a trench as defence.
I could not stop screaming when the mammoth was getting pulled back... But hey he did destroy quite a bit of the earth doing that hahaha matt....

Land rover is still british, because jlr is a merger company and registered as a british controlled company since 2008 and controlled by Adrian Mardell and McGovern for years before Tata owning it even the merging idea is from McGovern also the strategies , Tata is only parent company with shares, Tata is a non executive director in jlr, Tata get shares and get a position in parent companies of jlr with British holdings, bmw and Ford like Indian soft drink brands limca and thumbs up are owned by Americans (even they own the Formula) but those are still known as Indian brands

I’d like to see the Hennessy tow a td5 Defender or Disco. It’s not about outright power, it’s about tyre grip and Landy’s in low gear with diff lock engaged dig in and go.

The trouble is, the Hennessy also has low range and a locking center differential (like a TD5 Discovery or Defender, or just about any other 4wd on the market). The Hennessy also has a locking rear too, which the TD5 Discovery/Defender don't.

I am just wondering that increasing peak performance (by tuning) to a certain level is great, but it does not give the full picture. It is just peak torque and peak power. To understand fully we need a graph that is mapped throughout the rev range. Is it just a marketing gimmick by the tuner?? 1000hp??

The torque and horsepower curve is steady through the entire range. It reaches peak torque at around 3000 rpm.
