    Man this is a nostalgia trip. I watched clips of these old monsters when I was a kid. This is the first time I’ve given them any thought since I was 5.

    Damn...all that bouncin' n' crashin' n' burnin. Makes the idea of Bigfoot 8's controversial design look pretty good

    1:04 “Stand up and salute USA-1, America’s monster truck! In the most American in sports. The first ever world champion of monster truck racing! And the most wrecked monster in the history of the sport! Featuring founder, owner Everett Jasmer, 1988 world champion driver Rod Litzau, and Steve Wilke. I’m Scott Duglass, now all of you please watch with me, the red, white, and blue Chevrolet called USA-1!”

    It's amazing what a difference 3 years can make. Won the championship in 1988, and by 1991 was the slowest truck on the circuit, and left the sport soon after...

    I remember once. I was practising on the local newspaper. Well, they told me to look up this motorshow that came to town, and I was ok I will do it. Yeah, because USA-1 will be there as well. So I did go there, with a camera in hand. I watched closely on the USA-1, and what did I see? The body of the truck was wrong. Yeah, they had removed Ford-emblem and painted the monster truck in the colours of USA-1. I talked to the person that was boss over the motorshow, and I told him. Ehm, sir, USA-1 got a Chevy-chassi, why is it a Ford-chassi? He looked at me, mumbled, his face got red like a Stop-sign, and then he got mad like hell, and just walked away. Yeah, I live in Sweden, this was a motorshow from a baltic country. So yeah, I know scammers when I see them, and then they are telling it is the real USA-1 with a bloody Ford-chassi? C'mon, I have followed Monster Trucks since I was 7 years old! 1988 and I am still following Monster Jam! And the Monster Truck that was the father of the new trucks are!!?? Yes, it is Grave Digger of course. :)

    USA 1 first Bigfoot second. I do remember watching this truck race from an opponent's point of view you had to hope that you was not on straight away with this truck because you would lose.!!! I saw this truck race before and no other truck could fly over a row of cars like this baby. No other truck can or has put up the numbers like USA 1. This is America's Monster Truck!!!!!!!

    james watson If it wasn’t for Bob Chandler there would of been no USA1. Bobs the one that got him started, but yes, Jasmer had some impressive runs at that time.

    Of the stage 2 era trucks there were a few that could run a straight line race with USA-1, Bigfoot #6 was basically their anwser to USA-1, Bigfoot #4 had trouble keeping up because it was using the standard issue 460ci V8 that they always used as to where USA-1 was using a 572ci V8, Bigfoot #6 came out with a 540ci Ford under the hood and it ran much better races with USA-1 and then Gravedigger, Carolina Crusher, Equalizer and No Problem also beat USA-1 on occasion. When Bigfoot #8 came out though it was game over, USA-1 or anyone really for that matter weren't able to compete hardly at all for a couple of years because #8 was so superior and the first true stage 3 monster truck.

    Guess the difference between Bigfoot and USA-1 from a team and business standpoint was one team learned from mistakes and damage to build a stronger truck and the other just kept hammering the same truck until he couldn't afford to fix it or build a faster truck

    Which like said before is a real shame, alot of grew up watching these trucks like USA-1, BIGFOOT, Carolina Crusher and so on. As far as monster jam goes I can see why some people dont like it, its not the car crushing racing we knew and it seems they want more personalities than they do anything else. But its still pretty good

    I just get tried of watching them wreck over and over and over for the sake of doing so. Back in Bigfoot and USA-1's day a wreck was a rarity and usually catastrophic that would put a truck out of the competition for at least the rest of that season, back then the racing felt legit and the wrecks were just a by product of racing...Nowa days with Monster Jam, its like the opposite.

    That's funny how the owner of usa-1 and the owner of Bigfoot had the exact same story because they both own for driver shops and they both built this exact Vehicles the same way I find that kind of odd and weird

    At the time Bob Chandler got publicly noticed with Bigfoot, there were others (including Everett Jasimer owner of USA-1) that were building monster trucks. Bob Chandler was the first one to get recognition though.

    I really hate that they wont run on the Monster Jam curcuit, say what you will about monster jam, but if Dennis Anderson and Grave Digger runs on it and doesnt have a problem with it, why should the USA-1 team? Me personally as a fan I would love to see them and Bigfoot back on TV again

  • @nathanmcdonald610

    @nathanmcdonald610

    The reason a lot of people don't want to run on Monster Jam is because you sell your trucks and ALL of your rights to Monster Jam, then they take a certain percentage of your revenue. Monster Jam's just wrestling on wheels, its never been legit like the PENDA or TNT series racing.

    I don't think USA 1 races anymore...and as far as BIGFOOT as long as monster jam is on TV they will have no interest in BIGFOOT...its sad really cause I loved the old school trucks and I'm a HUGE BIGFOOT fan but I hate monster jam...I still think Dennis is cool but he doesn't even own Grave Digger anymore.
