This is my favourite this year. While it may seem crazy and weird on the surface, the lyrics and composition are actually genius. The first half of the song is about someone who is introverted and closed going to have a few drinks. Then as the music changes to the pop part he has had enough alcohol to become extroverted and be someone different to his everyday self.

@@Vestu OMG FINLAND,.. I am OBSESSED with this performance. I am a Dutch guy living in Germany. And this guy is FIRE! He looks like a sweet gummibear , it is brilliant. First time I heard the song it was to much for me, but the second time I was already hooked, and now it has taken over my life. Finland should win.

I just posted the English translation of the song and the lyrics are written by Käärijä himself. It tells about his low selfesreem and how he chamged. So there is a true story in the song.

In addition to that: If you listen carefully, the term 'Pina Colada' pops up more than once in the stream of the Finnish lyrics.

Oh god I love the last second of the vid where he just falls back after having given absolutely EVERYTHING to the audience ❤ He's an Entertainer.
Instant smile and a small stankface! He’s just the best!! ❤️❤️❤️
Glad you liked it! That's partymetal with a motto #itscrazyitsparty by Kaarija himself. 🥳💚
Nice reaction 🙏🏼😊 Käärijä is the sweetest, and this song is very energetic. Definite blast-with-the-windows-open material 😄💚
This song is so perfect in the regard that it's simple and catchy on the outside, but has a deeper message that means a lot to Finnish people and their culture :)
The message of the song is that I'm going to dance, I'm not afraid of this world anymore! 💚🇫🇮
My favourite❤
Greetings from Estonia❤️. Finland's neighbors🤘. So cool to see comments from the other side of the globe. That's how we are here... very peculiar and with a fierce personality 🇪🇪. It's such a shame that Finland didn't win, it's their year

Käärijä rules! 🤩🔥 Greetings from Finland! 🇫🇮😁
It might be weird but it sure is fun! 💚
the Finns have a particular brand of weird that can surprise because initially they appear introverted and serious. this song allmost won and the finnish song that actually won the eurovision song contest about 10 years ago was by a very particular metal band, Lordi, very surprising perfomance too. but i was especially proud that this song was in Finnish, not in English.
Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮 Cha cha cha: It's crazy! It's Party 💃🫶🕺👍⭐️⭐️⭐️
Käärijä is out of this world. Not my cup of tea, at all. But I can't help it. I can not turn my eyes away and right leg starts beating and when I force it stop - head starts nodding! Cha, cha, ch-ch-ch-chaaa! 🤘

same. I wanted Loreen to win but Cha Cha Cha will leave a mark :)
Nice coincidence. When you said "I'm freaked out and I wanna dance at the same time", the next line in a song is "Nyt lähden tanssimaan niinku cha cha cha... (I'm gonna go to dance now like that cha cha cha...)"
I didn`t like it at first, but it grew on me every time I listened to it. And now I really really like it.
🇫🇮🇫🇮🔥🔥🔥💃🏿💃🏿👑🕺💃🏿💃🏿🔥🔥🔥🏆🥇⭐️🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮❤️
This is the Eurovision Songcontest at its best. 😊 Singing in your own language, having fun and making a nice show of your song. And it's catchy. I love to see you smiling. Most of Europe did the same and voted for him. Sadly the votes from the juries of all the participating countries together have a 50% share in the final outcome. So Finland did'nt win while a massive majority of Europeans voted for CHA CHA CHA. 😢
WOW! Finland!!
Cha cha chaaa ❤😂🎉🕺🏻💃🎶💚🇫🇮
It's a song for all introvert's who wants to join the party but don't know how without alcohol.
Winner winner, chicken dinner.
Thank you, mam. 😍 (learning Finnish would bring you a lot more of happiness 😌)
when you understand what it means so damn, as Finnish a song as can be😂🎉 Finnish and Finland best
Watch his performance at the contest, he took the roof off.
it's crazy it's party. Greetings from Finland!
Cliffnotes: The As with the umlauts sounds like Ahs, the J is like a Y and you enunciate/strees syllables at same strength in Finnish so his name is pronounced kah ree yah

A with the umlauts is more like the word "hand" which we would spell as "händ" if it was a Finnish word. Without the umlauts the letter is closer to how you described it ("star" for example), no exceptions. In our alphabet we actually treat A and Ä like they're two altogether different letters. You were completely correct with the letter J though! No exceptions to that either. Also double letter means it's a longer sound, especially noticeable when it's a vowel. And boy we do like to use our vowels!
Greetings from Finland💚💚💚💚😄

"This is not what I was expecting".
You should start pronouncing the name "Käärijä" like the word "cash" in english. In fact "käärijä" means "the one who wraps" and it is nickname given to this dude by his friends because he was always winning the card games and so "wrapping" the cash from the table.
💞🇫🇮💞🤘
Hi! I’m in Finland and I understand why you say it’s really weard:) me too little but i like this song❤

IT'S CRAZY ✋🟢🟢😛🟢🟢✋ IT'S PARTY
Love from Finland! Yes, we tiny country with big SISU,vguts ♥️💎♥️😃🤗🧚
unlike English, Finnish is consistent in spelling. The a in the word English MAN is completely different from the a in CAR. The first is formed in the mouth and the second is formed in the throat. The dots over the letter tell you to pronounce it in the mouth. Finland does not have the sound of J as in JIG or G as in George. The letter J is pronounced like the Y in Yellow (not the Y in City). English is not consistent in mapping sounds to letters. Finnish is. So yes, you absolutely can pronounce käärijä. You just need to learn something.
"I'm freaked out and I want to dance at the same time!" - literally the meaning of the song, is it not?!?! Haha!! "I've had a bad week, I want to drink until I fall off this chair." "Now I'm drunk, and I want to dance!!" 😂
Jennifer, this name Käärijä, you know the words like BAD, SAD, so the Ä is said like in words like those Bääd, Sääd, does this help you to say KÄÄRIJÄ....you are welcome!- Pekka from Finland
Drinking Pina Colada loosens his inhibitions to get up and dance. His dance skills are lacking in reality. But who cares? Many who get up and sing karaoke cannot sing either (me included) but it's the thought that counts.
💚🎶

A couple piña coladas I have devoured Yet the expression I have on my face is sour Yeah yeah ye ye yeh There is some time for a few, the night is still youngish This icy shell is something I have to demolish The floor is calling me when I'm no longer so frozen Like a cha cha cha I am approachin' Holding on the drinks with both hands tied on them like a Cha cha cha cha cha cha cha No, there's no tomorrow when I grab a pint tightly like a Cha cha cha cha cha cha cha No, wanna mess my head up and free my mind of fear like a Cha cha cha cha cha cha cha, no And I stay on this seat until I have to climb off it like a... I head towards dance floor like a cha cha cha And this world ain't making me scared no more Like a cha cha cha when champagne all over myself I pour Cha cha cha one eye keeps turning crossed too far And talking is so hard when this different side of me does its part Cha cha cha I don't usually go and drop my guard, not me But now I am that guy, now I am that guy I head towards dance floor like a cha cha cha And this world ain't making me scared no more Like a cha cha cha when champagne all over myself I pour Like a cha cha cha Cha cha cha cha cha cha cha aa-aah Like a cha cha cha Cha cha cha cha cha cha cha Cha cha cha cha cha cha chaa

Weird but wonderful! Go Finland I say.. as a rivaling Swede 😂
My Number 1.
We Finnish people are weird in our music, but, our Käärijä is the really winner of eurovicion contest 2023👌❤
Single Ä is pronounced short, like A is pronounced in English trAck = "trÄck". Double Ä sounds longer: TrÄÄck. :)
Ä vovel is the same as in batman twice. Double vovel is just twice as long as one.
Embrace the weird and the camp of Eurovision 😅
Käärijä = "one who wraps items".
"Käärijä" 🇫🇮 = 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (money)"-Wraper" or "-Furler" or "-Binder" = "A fast bucker"

"I don't know how to pronounce his name so I will let you guys do that" This is Americans in a nut shell. I can't be arsed to learn something about other cultures so why don't you do it. Most europeans outside of Finland and Estonia didn't know either but we looked it up and learned.

The sad thing about this is that Finland has many excellent musicians and songwriters, all of whom can write a tune but for some Godforsaken reason they prefer to put forward trash like this instead in most years. Perhaps the judges are all pissed as well. Blame Lordi (2006), they started it. If this song had beaten Loreen it would have been an utter travesty.
yes, not that kind of music I listen but this EU music show is just a show......

In ESC Autotune IS not allowed fortunately, its a Song contest, this is much more a show strange like that one Chikilicuatre of Spain that year, lame that something else. Clumsy performance. I dont like It at all. Sorry 🙄😓 Loreen although brings a better song she also used autotune in Madrid pre Party, a little dissapointed indeed. Lets see un the Final in Liverpool what happens.
