I went to a Gregg's during a family roadtrip to Stonehenge when I visited the UK. The chicken tikka sandwich was AMAZING... I savored every bite, and wished beyond hell we had it in the US. Half-considered taking some back on the plane.

coffee goes well with fat generally. The olive oil flavor is a bit off putting at first, but it's not that strong and it's not offensively bad so you kind of acclimate to it. It's not my preference though.
London Fog Lattes are Canadian in origin.
If only the teleprompter for Joe can be raised about 10 inches, and put it center not on the offset. Then, when he reads from the teleprompter it will make him look straight in to the viewer's eyes. Thanks

Joe, cheese and pickle sandwiches are a British delicacy made with cheddar cheese and pickle, which is a chutney-like (not relish, Harry) condiment made from vegetables like rutabaga (swede), carrots, onions and cauliflower, pickled in a sauce made from vinegar, tomato, apple and spices. My favorite pickle is Branston's. I usually get the small chunk variety.
@sontaron7

Actually Piccalilli is a type of relish. A chutney usaly is made with some fresh ingredients whereas relish generally is a way of cooked preserving ingredients
I'll never understand why takeaway bacon is so bad in Britain. Bacon is something we tend to do really well, with plenty of locally sources of great quality bacon, and it's popularity in things like a full English or bacon butty, and yet when it comes to almost all takeaways, especially the American ones that open up in Britain, the bacon is just abysmal. Not sure if the issue is they try to do American style bacon rather than embracing British bacon and have to leave out all the flavouring and texture additives, or if they've decided that the kind of person who gets bacon on a takeaway meal doesn't give a shit about what they're eating, but I can't imagine anyone think's it's actually good, and god knows who's paying extra for it on their meals.

Burger King's used to be pretty impressive (to me at least) but that was a while ago so perhaps they had to stop using it? Or cheaped out.
@08mlascelles

Agreed! It's so odd. I prefer British back bacon to streaky/american style bacon, and it's so easy to buy good bacon here, yet whenever I get a takeaway with bacon, it's that floppy, paper thin, flavourless rubbish.Very odd.
@danielhillier7417
Ай бұрын
Yeah its odd, I get some excellent thick bits of back bacon from my local butchers. All takeaway bacon is awful. Also the ratio is always bad, One slice of what I use was probably equivalent to 4 of what was in the sorry excuse of a roll.

Somebody thought it was really foggy in London so that became a stereotype a long time ago. I think it's more often foggy in San Francisco actually. London Fog was a brand of outerwear/trenchcoats in the US. Originated in the US. There was also a small rock music club called The London Fog on the Sunset Strip in LA in the 1960s.

8:50 that text of Harry judging Joe made me laugh my ass off 🤣🤣 Also in regard to the sweetness, if I ever do get a drink from Starbucks, I usually customize on toning down on the syrup/sugar they add into their drinks since they usually taste sickeningly sweet… ☠️
Of course all the iced teas are weak because all the ice melted in it.

I lived and worked in London for a spell, and upon arrival I discovered an old Starbucks gift card from a previous trip. So I went - had my first marmite and cheddar sandwich. Now I can’t get enough of the stuff.
About the oleato, no in Italy we don't mix olive oil and coffee, never.... however there are people in the south that in the morning have a spoon of olive oil and then also drink coffee, but not togheter...

Hello Joe Avella and Harry Kersh of Insider Food’s US Vs UK Foreign Exchange Food Wars, I love your Food Wars videos! 🍔 🍗 🌭 🍕 🌮 🌯 🍦 🍩 🍪 🍟 🥤 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

Wow, I'm never this early in these food war vids, I'm usually atleast 1 year late. Guess my KZread recommendations is actually working for a change.
I miss the Cheese and Marmite toasted bun we used to have in the UK Starbucks.

The London Fog latte is a Canadian drink! Invented in Vancouver BC, that iced drink was awful.
Hey Insider Food I think your subtitle is missmatching from 15:10 until the end of the video
The Starbucks has failed tea miserably since the merge of Teavana! I miss that place! Had no idea we have the chicken sandwich! Cold brews aren’t my favorite once in awhile I’ll get it. But I agree that the olive oil coffee looks weird.

Teavana was great, and I'm not a "tea" person. I prefer herbal teas, but on occasion, I have black.
Hey, Harry. I don’t know what you mean when you say you can’t taste the olive oil in the Starbucks oleato. I can totally taste it and it completely changes the character of the coffee’s flavor.
I can't wait for Japan 'Foreign Exchange' :)
I’d love to try that pistachio latte! I wish we got it in the U.K.!
Your subtitles are off but great video!
It seems that they have been deliberately choosing all of the brands that many are purposely primarily and secondarily boycotting for the sake of Plstn(you can fill in the gaps). It is quite astounding to see who they are openly in support of, although it is not surprising nonetheless. Organic byctt(once again, fill in the gaps) targets: 1. McDonald's 2. Burger King 3. Papa Johns 4. Pizza Hut 5. Dominos Pizza 6. Starbucks 7. KFC "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." -Malcom X

Frothy milk in tea? Thats the worst thing to happen to tea since Boston harbour 😂
When people told me I should try the London fog, I immediately thought... "industrial revolution"? And it has put me off till this day
Hey none of those Cold Brew with Creme look right, nor do the teas, maybe when they order them they shouldn't wait so long or not order them with ice, so all the ice melts and the creme falls completely into the cold brew, cause they're supposed to be layered
ice brown sugar espresso is not an american only, i’ve had it pretty much daily for last 2 years ❤

Yes, what my coffee drink is missing is an olive oil slick floating around on the surface 🤢
Get Joe to do a comparison video of the common high street coffees - Costa, Starbucks, Caffe Nero, also Greggs, and maybe some fast food ones like McDonald's. I'd suggest Harry trying and comparing American cups of tea but I think that would be cruel.

Regular sugar cookies aren’t frosted, but like snickerdoodles w/o the cinnamon. And again, it’s sad that they are sampling items that have been sitting around for up to an hour or so. The iced drinks look quite diluted from the ice melting. :-( My iced teas look much darker than the one he tried. They do make their pitchers of tea concentrated and add some water during preparation, but you can ask for no/less water to be added. And no fake milks for me!
